And I thought I was imagining meeting a guy named Tyro... I was looking for you and someone said he isn't familiar with the name so I really thought we didn't meet.

Nice meeting you guys, I learned a thing or two from you. Thanks!

Hi guys! My m2 is now almost a year old. I have a few of questions I hope you can answer:

    1. Do we need undercoating? Where can I have it done if we need it?

    2. My tires were not rotated during my 1st 10k pms. Is this normal? My casa is Mazda Alabang and they said that upon checking the tire wear, they deemed rotation not needed. Shouldn't the 6month tire rotatiob schedule be followed?

    3. Wheel alignment - is it done by the casa during pms? Or should i have it done outside? I have noticed my steering wheel is a little off center now (thanks to the roads i drive on).

Bonus question: where can i find one of these? Mine probably got lost in the carwash

Edit: dont know why i cant insert pictures. Anyhow, i am referring to the plastic ring used to mount the carpet to the floor

    1. Some say that for newer cars, this is unnecessary. Let's wait for the opinions of our experts here.

    2. I insist on tire rotation, old or new cars. I don't ask them but rather, I request that they do tire rotation. My practice is every change oil.

    3. I think you can have this done outside of casa. One experience with our old vehicle, the alignment done outside didn't align my steering wheel. The normal "center" of my steering wheel is off by 10 degrees or so. I only noticed the correction when I had the alignment in casa. Well, it is the "tires" that is being aligned and not the "steering wheel". Well, I might be wrong. It could be that both should be aligned.

    1. I'm not a fan of bituminous undercoat. It only attracts more dirt & will be difficult to clean. Unless the car is constantly exposed to sea breeze or for off-road abuse, I'd skip it.
2 Tire rotation must be more distance than time based. Every oil change or between 5k-10k kms would be good. Balancing upon every rotation is an ideal habit.
    3. Look for a shop w/ Hunter of Hofmann equipments that has M2 DJ alignment specs.

#2 ang engot naman, natural 10k km palang normal na di pa halata ang wear; but that doesnt mean di na irotate yun gulong.

Not on coilies, sir...Like tyr0's WhiteMouse, it's on mild-drop, OE-rated Tanabe NFs. I prefer having damper options.

Hi guys. Just got my wheels aligned yesterday. Final front camber is 0.27 and total toe is 0.19. I have a question tho. The mechanic filed down the hole where a bolt goes through. My officemate told me this is a sign of suspension damage. Is that true?

By the way these are the 'as found' measurements:
    Total toe: -0.56 (-0.18 and -0.38)
    Camber: -0.05 and -0.69

Some Mazda models do not have 0 camber ... maybe 3 degrees ... make sure the computerized alignment system had a setting for the correct vehicle year and model ...

Oh...you could've gotten SPC 81250 Front Camber Bolts for adjustability. The car doesn't come w/ 0° camber from factory. Camber range is from +0.3° to -1.2°. The latter is my current setting.
When strutmounts & other components wear, camber can get affected. Filing the holes bigger is something I wouldn't want done. A looser hole makes it susceptible to movement.

Looks good, except for the CF tip. Makes it look ricey.

Light....& fills the cutout up nicely...

HKS & other exhaust brands like Akrapovic added the CF insulator as bumper & accidental burn protectection.

The blue burn tips are ricier, IMO. Had to rub em off these Ti tipped nippon catback.[emoji4]

Different strokes for different folks. Good old stainless for me. But IMO the stock muffler of the 2 actually sounds good, at high RPMs raspy and fruity like those old Minis.

With you on simple, classic, clean stainless....just hard to find proven bolt-ons that aren't just fart cans for the DJ.
Those who want some audible 'gains' to go with a bit more power, HKS is on the louder side w/ some pop & burble.
