    Based on the Takeri Concept

Which is an evolution of the Mazda Shinari concept.

which means that the Takeri is already a toned down model. Expect Takeri to evolve with very minimal changes as it becomes the 2014 Mazda 6.

The Mazda TAKERI concept—inspired by Mazda's Shinari concept before it—made its official North American debut at the 2012 New York International Auto Show today, accompanied by a spec sheet of SKYACTIV® TECHNOLOGIES meant to increase overall vehicle performance and hint toward the future of Mazda:

    twin-turbo SKYACTIV®-D Diesel engine
    SKYACTIV® Body
    SKYACTIV®-DRIVE transmission
    i-STOP stop/start system
    i-ELOOP capacitor-based regenerative braking system
    KODO design theme

Also announced is the fully SKYACTIV® 2014 Mazda6, which will feature design elements strongly influenced by the TAKERI concept, and make its global debut later this year.

It actually departs quite heavily from the previous Mazda 6, but still looks distinctively Mazda.

What I love most is that it still manages to look svelte despite having bigger dimensions.

Interior pics don't tell much, except that the 6 is coming with a diesel. The design is still bound to change drastically.

The stance is long, low and wide. Very much like a sports car. It seems to have that cab rearward cabin design having a very long hood. Mazdaspeed/MPS versions should also appear too. What's more exciting is this is a hybrid diesel with i-STOP system and engine/tranny and chassis are designed following the SKY-ACTIV technology. That should make it very fuel efficient.

Actually, it looks even more coherent than the Mazda 3 brother.

I think the artist rendition is quite precise. The only change being the Takeri to 6 is the proper head/foglights and a new and more conventional side mirrors. Of course, the interior will look more 'normal' on production cars.

Kung may I-stop + I-eloop system ang ilalabas nila i'll sign in for one. The current Accord is just plain trash, too much road noise for a supposedly executive car.

Antay antay na lang Phil Market specs, sana with the new Malaysia group marketing the Mazda I hope they dont water it down. Without I-stop, I-eloop.would be a a deal breaker for me...

As always, the Mazda 6 looks jawdropping.

The rear tail lights look undoubtedly similar to the Sonata's though.

The new 6 sure looks good! Quite a departure from the more conservative 6s of the past.

The pre-facelift 1st gen Mazda6 (2003-2005) looks a bit dull. The facelifted 1st gen (2006-2008) was quite successful with its low stance, aggressive looks, and great handling. The 2nd gen was more refined and bigger yet still had its sportiness. The new generation is aimed to be a looker, sporty, comfortable, and fuel efficient (SkyActiv-G). A local diesel version will surely be something competitors need to deal with.

I suspect na wala sila Euro2 exhaust emission spec na SkyActiv-D...so kung ganun kung introduce man nila ditto yan eh kailangan antayin ang 100% implementation of EURO4 Diesel which is 2016 (correct me if i'm wrong)

Matagal ko nang iniisip how the gov't will implement this law since we have a lot of jeepneys. I think a) jeepney owners and drivers do not know about this yet, and 2) even if they know about it, they will do their best to delay its implementation kahit may headstart na since it'll be a very big investment for them to change their engines/their whole jeepneys. An example that comes to mind is the implementation of the ICC certification for motorcycle helmets which had been announced a few months before implementation but was still pushed back due to public outcry.

Euro4 na diesel ng UniOil tapos Euro3 naman yung sa SeaOil. Sa dami ng jeepneys na nagpapakarga sa kanila, I guess wala effect sa old diesel engines nila.
