Thank you for all the responses regarding the battery issue, much appreciated, will probably try Amaron and see if it works well. Mazda 3 2.0 is 2SM for battery size, right?

Probably my habit of turning off the istop during heavy traffic made the battery last longer. I think istop is not designed for MM traffic condition and it causes pre mature deterioration of the battery.

Ako i turn off the iStop immediately after starting the car. A friend of mine have that advice because the constant start stop of the engine will accelerate the wear and tear of the engine support which is very expensive because it's fluid filled.

That being said, ordinary and specially deep cycle AGM (also "iStop") batteries should last longer.

It definitely would work because it's still a battery that stores electricity. Only, iStop batteries are made to last longer (deeper cycle) because of the demands of the iStop system (constant engine on/off) during stops.

Grab yourselves a trickle charger like CTEK CT5 for start/stop....it will condition & stretch your iStop batts. At around Php5k-ish....it pays for itself.

May conditioner din model yan sir? It's a good practice to top up to maintain both regular and deep cycle batteries in full charge status.

The alternator of my diesel engine is rated at 150amps. Not sure if it's enough due to the multitude of sensors and electronics in the CX-5. [emoji1]

CTEk has a number of models to choose from, sir. The CT5 Start/Stop is what you'll want for your CX5.

We all know how you feel, mazda 3 ko dami na rin battle scar, mostly from those inconsiderate people who opens their car door as if walang car na nasa tabi nila and mga scratches sa lower front bumper na sumasayad sa mga matataas na humps.

***I forgot to mention on my initial post that the scratch was on the piano black shift gear panel.

Don't bother fixing that. You'll either only make it worse, or force yourself to buy a new panel.
