I never had complaints about the 3's stock ride & drive, but I always had my sights on the FSDs/Special Actives over their Yellows & Bilstein's B6. These were my silent OE replacement wish. With our roads & my use, no coilovers for this daily. The good ones are costly & they don't retain stock fitment. That limits parts options & sources once they fail.
Ride quality? Jekyll&Hyde, Banner&Hulk![emoji4]
They eat ruts, but firm up on smooth straights & twisties w/o any complex electronic system, like Tein's EDFC. I had the HeadTech try the car post-PMS. He was in awe how one on 19s can ride close to stock 16s, but firms up to be more planted when pushed. He asked how to source these.[emoji4]
Most vendors now carry the newer red Special Actives, check Tire Rack.... but there are some who still carry em. Here's a link to one: 214-216 Mazda 3 Sedan and Hatchback KONI FSD Shock Kit - Front & Rea – KONI Market

Is this still the recommended dongle for our Mz3s?
Or is this the better deal?

Looking at relative costs between US & Ph pricing, the new BP is expected to be priced much higher than the current BN when they land.
They'll get the same proven Skyactiv engines. AWD offerings? Highly unlikely. The changes raise the Premium feel notches higher. They've opted to 'downgrade' the rear from multi-link to torsion beam to reduce noise, weight & cost, & to increase space out back. Dave Coleman, Mazda's development engineer, explains why the beam is really an upgrade here:

Buy cheaper the current proven BN? Or wait for when & who knows how much the new BP?
The 'old' gen3 is sorted, figured & aging very gracefully. The great thing about grabbing a new generation model is the novelty of new...BUT, there's a minor thing you should prepare for when getting one early....the risk of having unseen issues pop that manufacturers usually sort thru TSBs & mid cycle refreshes.
Hope this helps you decide....Grats & welcoM3 to the Mown3rship!!![emoji4]
