I could bring the ASX and have someone buy it but for long road trips, the FXT is our choice. If only a RORO ferry from Batangas to CDO is available, it will be a lot easier.

Direcho na? There are short hops on the western side pero mas familiar ako sa Bicol, Samar, Leyte, Surigao route.

That’s the usual route. Hopefully, a RORO route from Batangas to CDO becomes available. Batangas port is within 2 hours or less from Manila and CDO is around 6-7 hours to Davao.

Yup avoid the long road to Bicol. Ok sana kung gawa na extension to Quezon.

I only did the BuDa route once and that was on an ordinary Bachelor. I love the smell of burning rubber and brakes in the morning.

I did that last Dec 2019, though I was stranded at Liloan port on dec 24 due to a typhoon...

If only roads are good within those areas, matagal na sana yung road trip. Once drove from IL to NC, then took the route to MD-PA heading back. Last year, it was GA to AL then to LA and FL.

    I already tried driving to Mindanao from Manila before, but;

I didn't have the balls to try going through Samar at night( in my previous run all my passengers were so scared they all kept nagging me that samar is a dreaded place to drive through at night so we stayed at a hotel in Calbayog to resume the journey in daylight).

Has anybody here tried a night drive in Samar?

Malubak at madilim.

Last month lang ginawa ng utol ko & friends mag drive from tacloban city to catarman city in n. Samar.

Thanks for the info, It's re assuring that my passengers are just over exaggerating. They're all afraid that some entity supernatural or NPAs and bandits would block the roads at night.

Sabagay sir, it is better to retire for the night and rest if possible.

Just wondering if any tsikoteers here had an experience with NPA checkpoints.

Sa Samar, wala, pero in the mid 80s sa Davao-Agusan-Surigao meron, iba pa yung LC ni Lademora.
