    Hi all,

I'm going to Baguio this Tuesday and I will be traveling alone.
Plan to leave Manila at around 7 or 8 PM.

Is there by any chance that you guys know how long will it take me to reach Baguio CBD?
I plan to take NLEX - SCTEX - McArthur - Marcos Highway to Baguio.

Is it safe to travel alone at night along the said route nowadays?
Any other tips for a first timer like me?

    Thank you in advance!

    how exciting...

pero 1st timer ka... i suggest you leave early morning so you can see the road signs.

how's your car? pag nasiraan ka medyo mahirap humanap ng talyer sa gabi along the stretch of macarthur tarlac to pangasinan.

pero given a properly reliable car, lots of common sense, sharp eyes and skill, pwede tahakin ang manila to baguio ng gabi. the roads are safe at marami ka kasabay na sasakyan sa daan.

night travel will probably take you 3-4 hours no traffic, consistent speed over 100 and few restroom breaks. cruise mode at 80 maybe around 5 hours. BUT THEN, i'm basing my estimate sa experience years ago, like 2005... wala pa SCTEX nun. maybe its faster now.

If you haven't done the route before (in the daytime), there is a big chance you will make a wrong turn.

please take note that Baguio CBD has number coding in effect 7am-7pm- no window time.

after getting off from SCTEX, just take the national highway towards la union that will take you all the way to the intersections of either marcos highway and kennon road- either of which should get you up here swiftly!

I actually prefer driving at night. No traffic.

The most confusing part for a newbie would be the end of SCTEX going to MacArthur Highway. Other than that it's a straightforward drive, even at night.

    Check all your lights.

    avoid kennon road,
take marcos highway instead, its safer here.
walang white lady dun! hehehehe.... (joke lang)

kapag meron victory bus na biyaheng baguio along pangasinan,
buntutan mo na ito para meron kang guide.

goodluck and have a safe trip!

mas maganda kennon road, di gaano matirik ang daan and maiksi lang, unlike marcos na matirik at medyo foggy na pag dating ng hapon kaya kung first timer ka mas mahihirapan ka marcos.

mas maganda din byahe ng gabi paakyat baguio, kasi at least nakailaw kayo both ng kasalubong mo, yung mga blind curve dun mas madali mong mapansin kasi pag nakita mo me ilaw na paparating ibig sabihin slow down ka at me kasalubong ka, sa umaga kasi marami kaskasero dun na van galing dagupan going to baguio or baguio pababa ng dagupan, sobra bilis ng mga yun, sanay na sanay, umo-overtake kahit blind curve. kinukuha lang nila 1hour dagupan-baguio, naghahabol kasi sila ng mga pasahero kaya mabilisan.

pag tinatamad din ako mag drive paakyat, nagva-van na lang ako. if you'll try to follow victory liner bus mostly marcos daan nila.

    musta kaya biyahe ni TS?

galing ako baguio last august 7 & 8. naabutan namin ang bagyo

Going to Baguio alone at Night...?
