Thanks everyone. I am really clueless going North. I went to Manaoag last year and we took Carmen Exit.

    Tama ba Intindi ko?

Do I pass Dau before Balintawak?
    Balintawak Exit
    Mabalacat Exit
    Tarlac Exit (End of SCTEX)
    Urdaneta Exit (End of TPLEX)

Okay pa ba umalis ng 6:30 AM on a Sunday? Balak ko sa August 30 since August 31 is a holiday.

Dau and Mabalacat are the same exit. This is right after the tollgate at the end of NLEX.

Balintawak is in QC and is where you enter NLEX if coming from EDSA. Since you've gone to Manaoag already, just take the same route that you did before, but this time, exit TPLEX at Urdaneta.

Urdaneta exit is new - only opened earlier this year, which is why you exited at Carmen before. Since you can now exit at Urdaneta, you save about 30 minutes as opposed to exiting at Carmen and getting stuck in traffic in the towns of Rosales, Villasis, and Urdaneta.

balintawak muna mam then NLEX till mabalacat exit connecting to SCTEX. then via SCTEX dire-diretso na po ng TPLEX till urdaneta exit. ok pa naman yan 6:30 AM but since you are coming from south (SLEX), baka bago ka makalabas ng balintawak exit ay mga 9AM na. once makalampas ka naman ng balintawak exit maluwag na yan...

Estimated Time of Arrival nyo po ba mam? Anytime ba or gusto nyo maabutan yung morning mass?

BTW: Morning mass sa manaog is every hour from 5 A.M. - 12 noon. Then afternoon mass starts from 3-5 PM.

Cathy, take note may "to manaoag" sign sa mac arthur pag labas mo ng tplex BUT POINTING TO THE RIGHT. DISREGARD THIS SIGN (longer, more traffic) and turn left instead. Then turn right at the first stop light, which is the same road you took last year. POI mo dito yung Norkis Yamaha dealership on the righthand side at the corner of urdaneta-manaoag road.

Juts direction is the best route. In the event you turn right at Mac Arthur hiway after exiting Urdaneta TPLEX exit, you can turn left at the junction of Mac Arthur and Binagonan-Asingan road. That will lead you to Manaog as well.

Sta Rosa to Baguio in 4 hrs is no sweat. Did that last June took off 5am averaging 110km/hr in all expressways via Kenon.

Guys, since Cathy is basically clueless (just like me) about the names of the places, exits etc, can someone post a Google map or link.

For Cathy, based on my experience, once you are in NLEX, you'll never miss SCTEX and TPLEX as long as you follow the signs.
Ang mahirap jan once you exit TPLEX.

Kahit 6:30 ka umalis, it'll take less than an hour to get to Balintawak from the south (unless you mean Sta. Rosa south and not Alabang south). In any case, EDSA traffic is very light on a Sunday.

Balintawak NLEX to TPLEX Urdaneta is just 170 km long, so it'll only take you a little over 2 hours if you average 80 kph for the entire stretch of NLEX/SCTEX/TPLEX.

Even if you have breakfast along NLEX, it shouldn't take you 5 hours to get to Manaoag. You won't have many tricycles to deal with since 90% of your travel is on the expressways.

Ok then, 3 hours. To miss cathy, 3 hours daw po mam from south to manaog kahit 6:30 AM departure time nyo. Goodluck sa queuing sa mga toll booths unless naka RFID, expect the unexpected long weekend yan.

It'll take over 3 hours if you include breakfast, plus of course there's still the travel from Urdaneta to Manaoag, which is about 20 minutes.

Toll booth traffic isn't so bad for northbound motorists on a Sunday morning. Most vacationers leave on a Saturday.

Galing ako ng manaoag last saturday.
    That's almost 4hours drive.
Pasay- edsa- nlex-sctex-tplex-urdaneta(exit)- sta barbara (then took the shortcut route to manaoag).
    Departed *6am...arrived * almost 10am.
Sobrang trapik sa Urdaneta, ginagawa yung hiway going to sta barbara.
4 hours from manila to baguio? Hmmm..
    Impressive.

No wonder EDSA is always clogged up cause that seem the only route everyone knows going north. One will be lucky to get out of EDSA from Magallanes to Balintawak in 1 hour at anytime of the day, parang sinapian na ng langit yan.

    The shortest route Osmena>Quirino>Espana>Mayon>Bonifacio.

If your near to Roxas blvd, pwede rin Roxas Blvd> Delpan> C3 > Bonifacio

Yes sir, i took that route, urdaneta/manaoag/san vicente road, but something's going on that time. Sort of parade or whatever it is. But it was a wrong move turning back. Mas matindi pala traffic dun sa dinaanan ko.
