I have heard that Sariaya bridge In Sariaya, Quezon was totally closed down for repair effective end of May 2008 which is yesterday...
My question is what is the shortest and less traffic alternate route to take to continue driving to Lucena and beyond say coming from San Pablo city?? Thanks..

kakagaling ko lang nang naga this june 1. nagulat nga ako at may detour na pala sa lucena. from lucena to tayabas, lucban, pila and los banos ang bagong route ngayon. almost 1 hour idagdag sa travel time mo kung dun ka dadaan sa may sariayaya. tsk tsk kakapagod, maraming winding road. advice ko lang sundan niyo na lang yung mga provincial buses para hindi kayo mawala. happy trip!

yup meron sir daan, kaya lang medyo ikot if thats the right word but from morong rizal is approximately 100 kms to luicena.
option 1 say from ortigas you can take ortigas ave ext. then taytay, angono, binagnonan, cardona and then morong
from antipolo if you know the road, then just go down thru theresa then next is morong rizal, pagdating sa morong may intersection mag left turn ka tapos puro highway lang of baras, tanay, and pililia which is the last town in rizal, so next is laguna province daanan mo mabitac and famy den paete and pakil all the way to kalayaan (andtio ung kalayaan powerplant) then pag baba next is lumban (home of famous barong) after lumban is pagsanjan
at pagsanjan may intersection dun sa may church dapat diretso ka lang (kasi ung right turn will bring you to sta cruz den exit sa expressway) papunta ng cavinti, luisiana, lucban (home pahiyas festival and risen christ as featured sa tv) next is tayabas and after tayabas lucena na
the drive usually takes us 2 to 2.5 hours from morong to lucena depende sa mga kasabay mo sa road kasi most of it is winding road so you cannot overtake
the road condition is ok most are with asphalt overlay road.
be careful of jeepneys here kasi ang mga jeep dito lalo na sa lusiana cavinti and lucban eh ung mga truck chassis na nilagyan ng oversize jeep body, and most of them load unload p[assengers on the road due to small roadways, eh baka mabulaga ka sa kurbada
hope this helps, try to buy some map of the south luzon im sure makikita mo ung mga daan na yan
the bridge in sariaya is still closed ata as of yesterday ung mga provincial bus still take the detour
ang maganda lang dito walang bayda sa TOLL
and as much as possible dont drive on late hours, masyado madilim ung daan wala masyado street lamps except sa mga bayan
early morning naman is ok para wala pa masyado sasakyan

i suggest you take this rizal-laguna-quezon road
may mga signs naman so you wont get lost
and as a pointer stay on the road with (center lane markings) dashed white markings meaning that is national road so you wont get lost
pros:
iwas traffic
fresh breeze of the country side
nice road
less car plying this route
cons:
winding uphill and downhill road (bundok ng rizal then patag then bundok ng laguna then patag then bundok ng quezon then patag then lucena na)
andami mo mabibili on the way (kulang pa ung pan toll mo)

just an update
The sariaya bridge in Sariaya Quezon which was closed to traffic a week back is now passable for light vehicles only and on the sign board 15 TONS and below only are allowed
so to those planning to go south you can use the road without detour
(we passed there early this morning )

August 23rd, 2008 03:15 PM #7The best route from san pablo city to lucena is via Nagcarlan Laguna - Majayjay Laguna - to Lucban Quezon. Ingat lang pagdating ng Majayjay to Lucban, maraming blind corner at matarik and slope ang daan. Pagdating mo ng Lucban town proper, the road fronting Lucban Municipal Town is going to Tayabas Quezon via Lucena, the whole trip will take only 2 hours.

sir sa ngayon passable na sya both buses and trucks, if you're planning to go to bicol for the penafrancia festival in naga this 2nd week of September
ok na po yung daan, and mas ok na yund daan compare to last year, except dun sa entrance portion lang ng quirino or andya hi way, which is after calauag quezon
For the Toyota products its likely to be the case for most of their products per the service...
