Are there any local shops who do wheel banding a.k.a. “wheel widening”? How safe is this practice?

I would like to have my stock steelies widened from 5j to 7j to give it a deeper dish look. Please share your experiences for those who already tried it. Thanks!

For SUV use? Check out ROH steelies from Oz. Below is an o l x . p h ad. They're not pricey....better than what you're planning, sir.

Ah...wrong PCD for that. If you proceed, seek assurance on maintaining the wheel's balance, run-out & structural integrity. It's a common procedure I remain uncomfortable w/.
There are a few other ways to widen your wheel options w/o giving mod reversibility up. You can do PCD conversion via adapters.
