Hi. Helping a friend choose between these two 265/70r17 A/T tires:
- Cooper Discoverer AT3
- Nexen Roadian AT2
Will be used on a new Ranger that will have about 90% on-road duty traveling from Bulacan to Makati daily, possibly paired with an aftermarket 9inch wide rim.
The Nexens are cheaper by about P1k per tire. Haven't seen both in the flesh though. Read from the TSCP board that they recommend the Coopers, though also heard separately that they're prone to blow-outs. Any truth to that?
Which one should my friend get?
Thanks.Last edited by IMm29; November 26th, 2012 at 10:27 PM.

Get the Cooper. At least thats my suggestion. No horror stories from pals that use 'em. Id get them too if they were available in my size/price range

Thanks Bro. Actually, I've been partial toward Dunlop for Jap brands coz they come out cheaper among their peers. Plus most of them I've been lucky with. Except for the LM RV 501 on 2 different rides, with 2 different sizes. Anyhow, the AT3 does look the macho part. It comes out more expensive vs the Cooper though, but let me present it to my friend.
Oh I see! That explains why the brembo pads seem to have a different design. The original Akebono...
