switching to a bigger tire

hi i'm a newbie here.

I own a mitsubishi space gear 1998 local version.

my father is planning to upgrade it to a bigger wheel, just want to know what are the risks/advantages in doing this.
gusto lang niya mas mataas at malaki gulong para mas astig.

Bigger tire = more distance to take in order to do a full revolution. This affects the speedo, too.

Pros:

More grip ( depending on what tires you are in, though )
Looks

Cons:
Odometer/Speedometer would not be that accurate
There would be a slight drop in the FC since there is more resistance when having wider tires

There's never a reason to switch to a bigger (taller) tire. Never.

A taller tire will be heavier and will ride worse (all else being equal... same tire brand and model) or only marginally better. This is because despite the extra sidewall height, the tire will be heavier.

It is usually the control arm that hits the dirt or sometimes stones when we drive in hacienda roads where loaded trucks pass. The middle part of this type of road is a lot higher than the sides where the tires roll. I always thought that putting taller tires is the main thing that would increase ground clearance of the control arm. Is this not correct? Is there a better option?

pwede rin bigger tires, just make sure to check the specs ,specifically the tire weight. a perfect example is (taller) 265 75 16 bridgestone h/l is a pound lighter than the 265 70 16 of the same brand/type. and i am sure there are more tires which are taller but of the same weight to that of your oem tires. pero syempre speedo readings will not be accurate plus sa take off medyo kukupad because of bigger circumference
