Repair or Replace Mags

di ko alam kung sa more than looks ipopost o dito.
ganito ang issue.

my car is now riding on stock 2001 185/60/14 rims ng Lancer (6 spokes). The mags has scratches and the centercap is really loose. I was trying to look for a center cap na masikip, but i cannot find anything.

yesterday, i was just driving around, happened to stop by at some second hand mags/tire store na malapit sa amin. i inquired about one mags that fancied my eye. its a 6 spoke din, but on 195/55/15. they said, they will take in my old mags, and i will just add 7.5k.

another option will be to just have the rims repaired/repainted for 650 each (P 2,600.00). although it would solve the scratches on my rims, it will not lessen the gap between the tire/fender.


questions:

a) i don't want my car to be lowered (suspension wise, i like the smooth stock ride) but i would want to have the fender-wheel gap lowered. will a 195/60/15 be ok?
b) if ever i will trade my rims to that new one, will it be worth it? I am planning to sell my car na siguro (pero not sure pa, but my wife has been nagging me to have it sold na by next year), so that means, i will only have to use the car for around one year na lang.

tempting offer kasi yung rims.

hehehe. yun din ang iniisip ko eh. di ako magastos sa mods.
yung cash out ko, mags and tires na. kung baga ang total value kasi talaga nung rims/tires is 15.5k (second hand). ang trade in value ng rims and tires ko is 8k.

yung question ko...
if i currently use a 185/60/14 now and will convert to 185/60/15, will it lessen the fender-tire gap? if so, by how many inches?

on visual inspection, makinis yung mags. sabi nung kausap ko makikita ko daw kung bengkong o hindi pag sinampa sa balancer.

maganda sana may mags din dun ng 2006 lancer... kaya lang ang mahal pa....

pssst. yung tanong ko sa tire-fender gap.

go for it papi! yung fender gap is not that great of an issue kasi increase ka 1 inch sa mags then 5 series down lang, mas wide pa yung tire. tignan mo kung makapal pa yung tires and year made, kung ok na lahat, id say go for it! sayang, konte lang kasi dagdag and the over all look of the car would change.

update ko lang ito.
instead of the original mags that i was eyeing last week, i went for it, but instead got a chrome 15" rims used by lancers 2004-2005 models. mas maganda and mas bagay sa oto eh. kinis nung rims.

and instead of adding 7.5k, i just added 8k.

had it mounted on 195/65 Michelin tires (brand new). tahimik na tahimik takbo oto ko ngayon, tapos hindi na kailangan ilowered. from a 5 finger gap sa front fender, mga 3 finger gap na lang ngayon.

i'll try to post a before-after pictures here.

di ko pa na try bro. although it may look like it, its quite harder to accelerate now.

same pa rin naman ang shifting ko (around 2-2.5k rpms) so i don't see any significant changes if any. kung meron man, baka minimal lang.

ganda ng upgrade mo sir, simple yet noticable difference! ok din you went for 65 series kasi hindi naman lowered. and to think 8k lang add mo for the whole set...
