someone told me na madaling mag-ooblong ang gulong mo pag Rota ang mags mo kasi malambot ang mga mags ng Rota. is this true? can somebody confirm this by personal experience?

had 17" rota stage 5 rims before on my ek civic, no problems whatsoever, used it even on some midnight dragraces. when i sold the rims they were still perfectly round.
Not true, our 20 year old car has Rota mags, never had any problems.
yup, the new mags of the GU Patrol in australia were made by rota. meron nakalusot na isang set dyan sa may blumentritt, kinuha ko ;)Originally Posted by mazdamazda

i see. thanks peeps for sharing your personal experiences! i guess wrong info yung natanggap ko dun sa kakilala ko hehe!
When I still had my Lancer box-type with me, my wheels were banana-type Rotas and I used them for years. Hindi naman ako na-oblongan.
my former beetle has 15" banana type rota mags. wala namang naging problema...
my former singkit also has 15" starfish type rota mags... wala ring naging problema.
i may have to agree with BBimmer. silverwind daw yung malambot... narinig ko na rin yung balitang yun.
I had rota wheels on my previous ride... only had one "bengkong" incident with it. I hit a very big pothole along NLEX (at high speed too). Even before I had it fixed, I had no air leaks, etc.
I use my Rotas off-road. No problem. I think that's enough of a test for most road conditions.
Siliverwind at Philippine Racing ang layo ng quality from Rota.

Need an Ambulance? We sell Zic Brand Oils and Lubricants. Please PM me.
There's still Philippine Racing? Where can I find them? Are they any good?
Silverwinds are still far off ROTA quality... most Silverwinds I see are heavy, and a lot of their designs are old fashioned.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
sabi nung mga shops sa blumentritt rota replica nga lang daw yun ralliart na mags ng pajero (yun stock) medyo nagulat nga ako kasi dapat trade-in ko to for a new set of mags and tires tapos nung pinepresyuhan eh ang baba ng kuha samantalang a few months ago hinihingan ako ng 41k nung balak ko i-trade in yun luma ko mags and wheels para sa ralliart na yun considering bago apat na gulong and michellin pa worth 7500 isa.... tapos ng tinanong ko magkano benta nila sa rota na ralliart 3500 lang daw isa
If you want rare colors, you can contact Rota directly at their factory in Bicutan. That's the only place you can get mags in colors that they only sell as exports.
Rota din ang karamihang gamit ng Auto-X'er sa US, wala namang problema. May once incident noon pero it was quickly resolved by doing a recall on most wheels sold according to manufacture date. After that incident, Rota had improved the load ratio of each wheel manufactured.
I've had deformed ROTAs, but then I've had non-ROTA mags deform under similar conditions, also. My route is very provincial, lots of potholes, bumps, rocks, ruts, etc... taken at speed. ANY "aftermarket" magwheel will deform under these conditions.
ROTA developed their "soft" reputation because stock mags usually don't deform when you hit bumps at those speeds because they have thicker tires to protect them. If your stock mags are as big as ROTAs, with thin tires, there's absolutely no difference.
