    Gentlemen,

I need your advice. I am still confused on which I will buy for my old but still reliable black Honda Accord EXI 1994.

A 17 or an 18 inch wheels? And why?

    Please kindly provide any advantages/disadvantages.

I am planning to buy in this coming days this 17 or 18 inch Rota Battle wheels.

Your advices will be highly appreciated.

with the 17 inch mags... if you hit a pothole, you dent it, you have it repaired and you cry at the expensive repair bill.

with the 18 inch mags... if you hit a pothole, you dent it, you have it repaired and you cry harder at the more expensive repair bill.

BTW, typically tires are also more expensive for the 18inch wheels.

I'd choose the 17" since that's what I currently use in my own ride 205/40/17 BFG tires on 17" Victory Drag wheels. I already hold my breath everytime I pass a pothole here in the US and I can just imagine with the craters they have in the RP. The 18" may not be a reasonable choice unless you just want to use it for show only. Just my .02.

even with 15 inch wheels and 195/50/15 tires, I had two of my wheels damaged (dents) due to potholes and the like.

Also with bigger wheels, fuel consumption suffers as well as ride quality.

if you want comfort, stick with the stocker 15 or 16 inchers with plenty of rubber around it. better protection against potholes too, as the guys have said.

but if you want to improve the looks of your vehicle, don't go halfway. parang bitin ang 17". especially on a Camaro. go 18".

the disadvantages are not much more when going from 17" to 18". ride quality is about the same, price is more, but the difference in looks is big, imo.

If it's for a Camaro then 19" would be good also as what my neighbor has but it's for his Accord so the 17" would be enough if he doesn't mind the ride.

17" is a good compromise...maintains some (if not most) of the ride quality while gaining lotsa pogi points.

Hahaha! Natawa ako sa post mo bossing!

Seriously, pwede na po yung 17s since you will be driving around typical Pinoy roads with lotsa potholes and similar. Pero kung ako, ok na ko sa 15s so that I will only cry a little on the repair bill!

17s for me. if you wont drop it, go for 215/50/17 tires.

ok na yung 17. if you will go for 18 hindi sya advisable for RP roads. kung ang gulong mo ngayon ay 195/65/15 you can go for 215/45/17.

17 lang solve na. and again, tires for 18s are pricey compared to 17s
kung porma lang, try to drop it na rin for the lowered look. you will (probably) find it a bit awkward na may 'space' yung gulong and fenders mo (again, that will depend sa tingin mo). big tires, drop, cool! kaso sacrifice the ride/comfort. matatagtag. consider din yung magiging maintenance for your suspension.

    17s for your Accord.

    Everything below goes up:

    1. Tagtag
    2. Price of tires
    3. Price for wheel repairs
    4. Fuel consumption
    5. Road noise
    6. Unsprung weight, meaning, more wear on suspension components

save your money on other things bro.. nasa pilipinas tayo.. no use ang bigger wheels..

just spend on improving your interior.. ICE.. etc.. yung tipong maeenjoy mo while your driving.. nde yung puro porma na masakit naman sa bulsa..

16's is the largest I'd go... If it was a late model accord like an 02+ 17's would look good... for an older one, anything larger than 16" is rice, and does not feel comfortable on the road... OH, and plese don't go chrome...

tama don't go halfway kung porma habol mo, so i suggest 18s ka na lang
baka mabitin ka sa itsura ng 17s
malaki kasi body ng accord (parang corona and galant)
plus the fact na wala naman halos diff sa ride
at kapag grabe talaga yung lubak, parehong kayang mabengkong yung 17s at yung 18s

pero kung balak mo bnew lahat at kulang budget,
going for 17's is already a good compromise

to choose between the two, my opinion is 17"... 18" is good, but as all have said, the tires are more expensive.

ive had 17" with 40 series tires and yes, cost of repair is high and at the end of it, it looks good, but cost too much to have.

but if i were you, ill choose 215/45or50/17 tires

kung ako sa yo pwede na 16" pumili ka na lang ng design na may daya. yun bang pag tiningnan mo ay mas malaki kaysa kala mong size. may daya effect ba..
