adviceable ba, will it last or not worth your money? sagwa na kasi nung mags ko, di bagay sa bagong washover na car ko. off course, mas cool pag bago kaso wala pa budget, nagamit sa pa-hilamos.

ALL rims are painted. except for the ones that are chromed. that silver finish on rims is basecoat/clearcoat paint. so no reason a proper paint job will not last.

make sure you prep the wheel properly and thoroughly before you paint it though. get all the stuck-on dirt off and make sure every little nook and cranny has been cleaned and scuffed.

better yet, dalin mo sa paint shop na magaling

Malapit narin hilamos nung sedan namin, kaso ayaw na sana naming gastusan pa rims kasi luma naman na, parang di na sulit. What if may mga malalim lalim na tama? Kaya na ba ng paint shop ito, o kelangan mas specialized pa kung meron man?

sa specialized na ata dapat dalhin yun... why not upgrade you rims and buy a new set nalang

pwedeng pwede... basta remove the tyres b4 painting... linisin ng maigi... use dish washing soap para matanggal ng maigi yung oil and dirts... kung malaki na ang tama or may mga cracks na dapat siguro palitan na.

dalhin ko na mamaya sa paint shop, anu color suggestion nyo? marino blue (parang metallic light blue) yung pizza ko. orig color ng mags ay parang silver/chrome yata. siguro ganun na lang ulit.

ingatan ko na lang siguro pag na flat tyre ako, baka masira paint dun sa may lip ng rim pag nagpa-vulcanize.

mga bro, any idea on how much it would cost to have my rims metal polished/restored here? may konting sugat lang naman yung lips ng dalawang mags. tsaka wala ba may alam kung meron sa south area ang rim restoration/polishing?

DIY Painting..

240 grit sand paper
800 grit sand paper
1000 grit sand paper
water
soap
1 lit acrylic thinner
1 qrt acrylic body paint
1/2 qrt epoxy primer w/ catalyst
1/2 qrt top coat
compressor

or

spray paint na acrylic will do basta important yung epoxy primer


1. mas maganda kung kalas pati goma para d mapinturahan
2. kng may tyaga ka, gumamit ka ng Paint Stripper to stip all paint ng mags, mejo matrabaho ito. repeat if necessary until all metal are shown.
3. use steel brush to clean or 240 grit of sand paper or even an old toothbrush will help.
4. pwede rin i-sand paper mo nalang with water and soap if the paint is still in good condition. use 800 grit of sandpaper
5. wash with soap and dry. as in dry na dry
6. mask all the parts na ayaw mo mapinturahan (lip or some areas of the spokes or the tires kng d nakalas)
7. spray 1st with epoxy primer until it cover up all areas. let dry for at least more than 1 hour para tumigas
8. for best result, spray thin coats then repeat para maiwasan ang smuges
9. sand with 1000 grit sand paper with water and soap para makinis then wash and dry...
10. spray with body color until it cover up all areas.. spray thin coats for best results.. let dry then sand with 1000 grit sand paper then repeat painting with thin coats..allow to dry for 1 hr.
11. spray all painted areas with top coat under the sun for better results then let dry overnight.
