differences 185/65/14 and 185/55/15

Hi everyone,

I am planning to buy a new set of tires for my toyota corolla big body xe. I would like to know the differences between the two sizes of tires.

I like the 185/55/15 because of its looks (low profile) but I don't know if there's any issue. I plan to buy Bridgestone Playz 185/55/15.

Right now I am using 185/65/14 but planning to buy Westlake or Wan Li 185/65/14.

Your existing tires = 185/65/14

You are looking at = 185/55/15

It will not fit because your wheels are only 14 inches. You will need 15 inch wheels to install 185/55/15 sized tires.

Assuming you are going to buy new 15 inch wheels.... 15 inch wheels will give you a firmer ride but the 55series tires will still be comfortable enough. The car will feel as if it will hold the road better, especially at higher speeds and corners.
