Guys most tire makers have factories outside the country of their headquarters.
Bridgestone has divisions in Japan, Thailand, Korea, India, Malaysia, even Taiwan.
Maxxis has factories in China, Taiwan, Thailand and Canada.
Dunlop has factories in and Japan, Indonesia, China and Poland.
Most brands today are affiliated with some larger tire maker. Dunlop is part-owned by Goodyear for example.
Where your tire was made still matters today, but not as much as before. Most Japanese made tires are still the best by my reckoning. Brands don't matter as much anymore but still determines to a great extent the quality of the product, regardless of where it was made.
In choosing replacement tires, if you are not happy with your OEMs, choose something that someone you trust has already used and is happy with. It is the tire dealer's job to sell the brands he has, so expect them to tell you an earful about the quality of whatever brand it is they are selling. If you cannot ask someone you trust regarding a particular brand or model, go to a dealer with a good reputation for after sales service (warranty claims).
Another point is the tire model itself. Good brands have bad tire models in their lineup too. I've had bad experiences with Yokohama's Super Digger V but none in their Geolandar lineup.

OT: meron nga bang tires that assures/proclaims us for quality fuel economy? kasi i have this michelin brochure, sa top-end ng brochure na mention sa clasification ng tires below are "fuel saving",comfort & silent and envi friendly.
no doubt for the comfort and silent, there are tires designed for smooth rides but for fuel saving? hhmm isip isip good day

i doubt the fuel-saving aspect. because even though the tires create less drag, hindi significant yung savings.
