Btw if I may ask if I go down from 205/45 R17 to 205/50 R16 would there be a considerable improvement on mpg? Another thing that I think would be beneficial is that if I go down to R16 is that the prices for tires would be lower due to that lower size tires would be cheaper right?
Hi, its very complicated. Check this article, it should answer all your question. How Bigger and Smaller Wheels Affect Ride, Handling and Performance

One more advise, size 16 tires are hard to find, very few cars are running on r16. They are not available all the time unlike R15 tires.
