singit lang din po,
bakit po bumabagal acceleration kapag naka 17" na?

larger diameter of wheels gives it a longer time for a complete revolution, hence, longer time to accelerate (tama ba explanation ko? hehe)

correct. in addition to what you have said the increase in the unsprung weight of the tire/rim contributes also. Yung mga local at Taiwan na 17, 18 and up na mags ay mabibigat compared to the German and japanese rim manufacturers. Minsan nga pati yung braking affected pag nag +3 and up increase ka lalo na pag naka ABS yung kotse.

curious question... pano naman yung mga cars na naka 18" and up na OE wheels? compensated for na yung braking systems nila for the upsize in wheels, e.g. ABS, EBD, etc?

opo.. sa tingin ko po yung mga cars na may 18" as stock.. ndi magkakapproblema,... hehe but baka magkaproblema mga yun pag mag palit sila ng 15"s hehe... baka ndi kasya brakes... sumama handling.. at iba pa... hehe
btw... i have the same problem as sir mgbrillo... i have lancer gsr... pizza pamily din po.. hehe and i want new rims.. gusto ko sana.. smtn special eh.. smtn ndi ko lagi makikita sa road.. im not a racer.. i dont realy care about weight ng rims.. but.. magkano po kaya aabutin 18s? yung locals lang po.. kasya po kaya ito sa gsr fenders nang walang sabit.. kahit i-lower ko ng kaunti? ryt now kasi im riding on stock 15"s 55 series.. sa totoo lang.. ndi ako masyado attracted sa 15"s nabibitin ako sa size.. actualy.. my older car(a corolla ae101) had mags.. i changed it to 16"s and nabitin ako.. i wished i had 17s nalang.. but.. than time mahal pa 17"s so nagtyaga nalang ako sa 16"s minimal sayad lang naman.. but.. kulang tlga sa looks fac tor.. hehe ano po masusugest nyo? also.. im looking for a 2nd baka lang po may ma-advice kayo.. but kung 2nd hand i want smtn po sana na still in perfect condition... and a set of lowering springs po sana.. but budget ko for springs is only 4t... hehe pag higher pa kasi... ipon nalang ako for new ones.. tnx

uy. daming sagot dito.. thanks mga pare.. hindi pa rin ako nakabili ng rims at gulong.. i'm thinkin' about getting 17" pero baka naman matagtag.. i go for the looks syempre, like A C's.. di ka naman makamabilis na takbo dito sa metro manila unless you go out sa madaling araw :-) yeah.. tight budget.. i can go for 10-12K pero sana rims at goma na yun... also, i may need to lower the springs? H&R madalas kong makita sa mags (and Neuspeed, tama ba yun?) anong diff nila with other brands? is it just the brand name or may 'performance' difference?
