i went to vigan yesterday (as usual, balikan manen). the roadworks that syur is referring to is that stretch after candon, northbound. works progress is slow because the favored contractor doing the work has insufficient operating funds. for confirmation of the statement above, ask the district's congressman. hehehe!

there are rain damaged sections in santiago as well. it looks like they are also preparing to "improve" that road too. expect another round of gnashing teeth in a few weeks.

in bantay, there are several sections after the quirino bridge with pending work too.

motorists are advised to slow down considerably in those areas as the ruts are very deep.

i have been driving these roads for so long and this occasion has been the worst EVER condition that i have seen them in.
