Tama ka jan sir pero include na rin yung sa may rotunda papunta ng SM.. sakit ng ulo talaga and I heard that there are plans to remove the "fake" pine tree in the circle at paliliitin yun (circle)...

    Greetings.

Could someone please post directions going to the Assumption (?) Convent, near Crystal Caves daw. We are supposed to go there this weekend, and I can't find the place on the map. TIA.

on marcos highway, start slowing down after you pass the shell service station on the right side of the road, the intersection to crystal cave is approximately 500 meters away from this point.

when you pass a covered basketball court on the right side of the road you can see, downhill, at the point where marcos highway goes uphill again, the intersection going down to crystal cave.

the road to crystal cave is to the left. it goes down somewhat steeply.

if you reach the total service station you have gone past the intersection.

go down the road. at the bottom of the hill there is another intersection where the main road turns left. instead, go straight ahead and take the smaller road. assumption sabbath place is about 300 meters away from this point.

you will see a 6-storey building, st. martin school - assumption baguio, ahead. near the end of the uphill, there is a smaller road going to the left. the gate to assumption baguio is at the end.

mikey, i will link a google pic when i get home.

Thanks a lot for the detailed directions, diesoline. You're a real lifesaver. I doubt if I would have been able to find this place on my own

    basta ikaw, mikey177...

i go there twice everyday as official driver of my daughter. and i was also there this afternoon to attend the general assembly for parents.

not too many people know about st. martin school aka assumption baguio. it used to be a mission school serving the indigenous communities around the area. i was surprised to learn that they have been there since the early 1960's.

sharing lang... i just can't believe how lucky we were to discover this school. :cheer:

imo the rotundas in baguio are better than the traffic lights. look what happened to the traffic in upper session road and north drive. i hope that they don't remove the rotunda as well when they remove that "pine tree".

let me rant too about the trancoville jeepneys. there are too many of them running around with very few occupants. they just clog up the streets and their driving habits foster further congestion. rumor has it that the trancoville ikot route has a powerful protector. i hope the new mayor can do something about that and the bottlenecks first rather than dig up the streets again.

afaik there is no carbon clean service available in baguio. i have no info re surplus/bighorn parts. i go to shell and petron for diesel. as for the rest of your questions, subjective na.

motolite excel mf. 3.7k circa 2005. afaik 4k+ siya ngayon. they have warranty and i think they honor it naman. di na ako bumalik dun coz i got the battery from them only because i need one right away. the last battery i bought was a 110mah rocket by yuasa -- pero sa qc ko binili.

i saw a gel type 3sm batt at jeff's offroad last month. check mo lang.

I just wanted to share some pics of Assumption Sabbath Place, which we found very easily thanks to the excellent directions provided by diesoline.

Here's the Starex that my wife and I used to get up Baguio... and sarap talaga iakyat ng CRDI engine. I was safely overtaking lots of buses and cars going up Marcos Highway. The short dimensions of the Starex (compared to our other vehicle, a Kia Sedona) made going down Kennon relatively stress-free too.

Here's a photo of the driveway of the convent. Mababait ang mga madre dun at maganda talaga yung place kung gusto mo mag-retreat.

Sadly though, as with many places in Baguio, where before one could gaze out and see beautiful mountain vistas and pine trees, now most of the time I only see mountainsides covered with closely-spaced houses
