Tama lang din price.. at an average depreciation of 10% annual.. almost after 10 years.. yung binayaran mo eh parang goodwill money nalang.. wala na value yung sasakyan.

aabot kaaya ang mga kia cars esp the crdi engine, let's say a carens for example, up to 10 years or more?

marami pa kasi akong nakikita in good running condition na mga ae101 corollas to think that they're already like 14yrs old.

My Sorento just turned 4, and so far, only the fuelfilter cost me a bit (5k++) and the typical change oil, differential oil change, just pure preventive maintenance, but no fixing or problems encountered. I can bet all of you that my Sorento will still be as good for the next 6 years and more. Fyi, got a Picanto too, its nearing 3 yrs, and so far so good.

By 2003 (towards the end of its production run?) the Kia Pride hatchback was priced at P349K while the model with power steering was priced at P374K.

For those who are having problem with resale value, i would suggest to enjoy your ride...

at least with my kia, i don't have any problems like engine stalling or having some black smoke.

For me, I would rather choose of having a low resale value rather than having some problem issues during the period of ownership...

But I also agree, the price of the Picanto is so high..

oh, have i not mentioned that we also had a Kia Pride CD5 before? When we bought it, it was like 275k in 1996. And we sold it in 2005, to our cousins for 60k, it was still performing well and even up to now. The fixes/ replacements that we did where on the balljoints. tie-rod, a bit of body repair for rusts and then the replacement of the aircon compressor. It was really a trusty machine, I love it, my wife loves it, our kids and even our dogs. hehehe

If you want a quality car na "keeper" for several years, say 8-10 yrs, dont buy a kia. But if budget is tight for the first few years, pwede na ang kia. Though overpriced ang Kia now for the quality & durability of their cars. Mas maganda na spend just a little bit more for Japanese ones.
Sana malugi ang Columbia motors so that prices of Kia go down to their real prices

*jjb... we have two kia trucks and still running in good condition.. without proper maintenance pa yun ha.... ).. But seriously, any car that is properly maintained will last 8 to 10 years regardless of brand.
