Maybe they should go back in history & look at how the GTR came to be. They had it tough too.

I saw a brand new white Kia stinger refueling beside me in the small Petron station along white plains avenue yesterday.
The headlights look really modern! Its the first Stinger i have seen in the wild.

It is unfortunate, they have a good product, but not enough people are keen enough on getting one.
KIA/ Hyundai may need to consider this a failed experiment.
Just keep the nameplate.
Relaunch again in 203x.

Me thinks this is the very reason bnew sales are not meeting expectations of kia... But that is not the fault of the market...
Hope this doesn't dissuade them since they are also targetting the civic rs with the forte gt.
I do wonder, does kia or will kia have a performance line? Toyota has trd, nissan has nismo, honda has mugen.
I don't really have the faintest idea.
Let's wait....these are best bought pre-loved.[emoji4]

So i've been really tempted to buy the stinger however, same with all the concerns here in forum, a 3.3m price tag for kia car seems a bit too much. Aside from that, this, if ever, would be my first time owning a non-toyota car and im afraid of the quality of service of other brands of car.
So here are my questions:
1. What are sporty looking 4 door sedans that can actually compete with stinger? (i like the design of stinger, actually)
2. At what price would you consider buying a stinger? Would you consider buying a demo unit if there was?
3. How Good/Bad is the quality of service of kia? (after sales support)
Thanks!!
1. In it’s class, me thinks all the others are coupes (2 doors). Meron bang 4 door? All I can think of, in the asian line up would be the Genesis, 86, Civic RS & BRZ. I was thinking of including the GTR, but it’s in a class by itself.
3. I will let you know next week. I am up for my PMS for my 2018 Sportage & ACI was still in the process of streamlining their network during my last PMS 5 months ago.

If you want a true track car, both the Civic Type R and Subaru STi are better options than the Stinger.
If you want something that commands respect, an IS 350 F Sport has far more gravitas than a Stinger.
My personal choice at that price range would have been an F30 328i but they've discontinued it already. The 320d is still a pretty good package though and has all the performance you'll ever need in Philippine roads outside of Clark or BRC.

Honestly, it might be weird of me, but on the looks department i prefer stinger over wrx sti or civic type-r ... I frequently drive in the metro and once or twice a month go out of NCR and most of the time im with 2 other companions. Im afraid that a coupe cars would be too cramped for us. I've considered IS350 and 520i but honestly, i just dont feel excited driving those...
My indecisiveness on which car to get has stopped me from buying a new car for 3 months now haha it might actually be a good thing for my bank account.
I have been considering an FJ (which they halted production of) and BMW 118i M sport (which i have called all casa and they already dont have a stock)
Toyota 86, i have considered as well, but my gut tells me, its the type of car i would regret buying LOL
P.S.
with Kia, im really afraid of the after sales service as well... If something comes up with the car can the casa actually fix it? (thats why im stuck with toyota all my life)
Test drive one sir and ask them bluntly about after sales service. Admittedly, they prolly won't stock a lot of spare parts because there is no demand for the Stinger here in Da Pilipins, but there are online sources as well, as I've learned myself having acquired my first KIA after a series of Toyotas.
If it sings to your heart and makes your blood run fast then what is another few hundred thousand for spare parts and accessories?![]()
The stinger is a great car that sadly has a very small market here. its not doing so great abroad as well. But technically it will hang with or sometimes beat a base Porsche Panamera in terms of performance. And the Stinger has a lot of cabin space. So yeah it definitely has the performance cred to back up its price.
At this price point, very few things are practical but this car actually is very practical. But i do get your point about spares and service and that has to be factored into your decision.
if you actually considered the FT86...might as well consider the Mustang GT. Tons of spares and service available everywhere. Performance, looks, gravitas, noise, tech, etc not in question. Though the rear jump seats are super cramped.....
Its a keeper and within the same price range as the Stinger if my memory serves me well.
