Bad news guys! Mukhang itong si Columbian Motors is employing the tactics that they used sa Kia Picanto. I've gone to two dealers already and it seems that yung kanilang mga allocation of Sorento ay di pa dumarating! I fear that they might also jack up the price o they would give the buyer a limited option of financing!
Nakakainis talaga itong Columbian!!! I think that they're trying to jack up the demand of Kia cars para they would maintain their distribution rights! Balita ko magexexpire na yung contract nila with Kia Motors by the end of the year!
if i got the money, i'd buy the pajero as long as in tip-top condition pa. magastos na kasi magparepair ngayon. yun ang advantage ng brand new. virtually maintenance-free for at least five years. basic maintenance lang.
thanks your for your reply, yes i know that place. acquiring a unit like sorento, what would be the best, to buy in manila or in cebu, cost wise? ang distributor na rin ang magpapadala, door to door.
lapu, cebu only has 1 dealer, manila has several. Several breeds competition. I don't know with the discounts though, with the sorento new and all, plus what was mentioned of Columbia's sales tactic. Check the prices and the freebies from cebu and manila, if prices are within 10K of each other, (estimate ko that's the freight cost of the sorento), get cebu, if not get manila. Anyway, any kia dealer will cover any kia warranty nationwide.
pissword, that's based on our experience when we bought a kc2700 in manila and another in Cebu. It was more than the freight charge. Finally, Cebu was offering a discount, corporate daw, kasi 3rd unit sana. But our manila was buying one unit lang! We got the manila unit in manila. Their offering price, is yun na nga, an offer. If you don't ask for any discount or with the freebies, they won't give you.
How different is the sorrento's crdi compared with Isuzu's and Hyundai? Akala ko di kaya ng crdi engines ang philippine diesel? How does kia's crdi differ?

the local sedona is a 2.9 tdic indirect engine. there is a crdi carnival in the gray market. So can the crdi engine handle the dirty philippine diesel?
bai altec, i'd better ask kia cebu what they can offer when i get back home. on our phil diesel i wonder if adding a fuel additives in the likes of bio diesel will improve the quality of the fuel.... any comments?
test drove the crdi sorento kanina. Manual. Malakas! Steering wheel was light, ride was stiff (but that was because I got used to the ride of my sedona). Can't compare the ride with the 2.8 pajero coz its been a while since I rode 1. Pagsakay ko ulit sa sedona ko, parang wala na power, at mas mabigat ang steering wheel!! And to think I find the sedona's diesel power very good and the steering light already!
The diesel unit is dressed down. VS the gas, the diesel doesn't have: right passenger airbag, abs, power side mirror, flares or side skirt, tweeter (4 speaker lang vs 6 speaker), overhead altimeter system, fake wood grains, leather seats and side doors, rear trunk cover, and the side mirror is just matte black instead of body color
went to my suki repair shop, kasi the guy also has a kia. Sabi niya, he was able to test drive a gas sorrento, and compared it with a 4x2 2.8 pajero. Mas may body roll pa daw ang pajero. But according to him as well, mas matalbog daw yung pajero kaysa sa patrol na na test drive din niya. Isn't it that the patrol ride is more stiff than the pajero? As suspension reference lang of the sorrento.
