Hey guys, have you visited other threads especially the hyundai 2008 grand starex thread or montero sports thread? They're blocking their egr valves to: 1, lessen soot so that the dpf does not get blocked and less carbon deposits in the air intake manifold and lower carbon in the oil; 2, better combustion at low rpms (egr is fully open at idle and low rpm) so better fuel economy; and 3, better power due to better combustion at low revs.

i blocked the egr of my starex last week, and did the same for my sorento today. Lumakas nga ang hatak sa low revs, parang humahataw na ang vgt kahit below 1500 rpm pa lang. The engine seems more torquey also.

ser Yebo, saan ka nakabili ng blanking plate and kanino mo pinagawa? info please, matagal ko na din pinag-iisipan 'yan...and i'm around 99% decided on doing it too.

ser 'yebo', any pix/video during DIY? may pix ka pa ng blanking plate mo? saan mo pina-fabricate? paano hindi nag CEL? t.i.a. sa maraming katanungan....

Sorry sir the only pic i took was of the egr tube after i removed it. The blanking plate was also diy, i made it from a painter's scraper, maganda kasi yung metal nun matigas and heat tempered. Ginamit ko yung gasket nya as a template for shaping the blank. Pwede hindi na lagyan ng holes for the bolts, i-shape na lang yung plate so that the area with the bolt holes are not included. Walang CEL sir, not with the sorento or my grand starex crdi which i also blanked.

PM mo si zix888, he fabricates and installs on grand starex, fortuners and monteros. Almost same size lang ang plate for sorento and starex. He charges P1k for fabrication including installation. Meet up pa yun at your convenient location.

Finally, after 8 months of waiting, dumating na ang plates ng Sorento ko. F ang series. Ito na ba ang current running plate series ng LTO? Any of you guys issued with the same "F" plates?

Kailan mo nabili unit mo?

I got mine last March sa Kia Acropolis at ang sinabing dahilan ng delay is yung CSR which was only issued last July. Sabay aberya pa sa Crame kasi typo error sa PNP clearance. CR ko dated September na.

And sadly, I believe that the liaison of Kia Acropolis is very very inefficient.

P35,200 lang monthly ko sa PSBank. but since bank PO yung sa akin I had to pay the chattel mortgage fee and insurance. pero konti lang naman yun wala pa 50k total so in the end lamang pa din ako ng mahigit 100k. i got free 3 years LTO, tint, matting, tonneau cover and rear spoiler. the unit came already with factory installed roof rails, front and rear mud guards and fogs.
