i visited kia balintawak last week and offered the Sorento for 1,380,000 pesos. its a 3.5l V6 engine...
way too expensive and gas guzzler...

3.5li? V6? I think that is too much of a guzzler... and maybe until somebody experienced the fuel consumption rate.

i think that's a pretty reasonable price for a mid-size SUV so equipped... think of the Sorento as a V6 Escape with real off-road credentials (it's got a full ladder frame and a two-speed transfer case and proper mechanical traction control)

it looks way better than the Escape too (i bet the Escape has a roomier interior than the Sorento though), and it would also share the shortcomings of the Escape: city fuel economy would likely be abysmal, service options and parts availability are limited, and resale value would most probably be extremely poor.

i saw a white sorento sa signet edsa..sarado na showroom kaya di na uzi.. iyan din naisip ko kaagad..poor resale value.. and these names come to my mind... sportage, tiburon,elantra etc ....maganda noon...walang value ngayon...

Relatively inexpensive lang ang Sorento. It is a midsize SUV in the tradition of the 90's-era Pajero, Trooper, and 4Runner. You get a lot of equipment for the money and you get serious off-road stuff like a live axle, fully boxed frame, LSD, transfer case, etc. that you'd rarely find in a cute-ute of roughly the same price.

I am based here in Korea, may 2.5 turbo CRDI na available dito yang sorento. diyan ba may ganito ring varaiant na available?

I think the 2.5CRDi is the same engine as in the Hyundai Starex CRDi. Even Hyundai is hesitant to officially launch this engine into the market until its fuel requirements are met. They don't want to be another Isuzu which had some trouble when it introduced its most advanced engines here in the country.
