kia sedona questions

hi, i've been a listener on this forum and now just registered. Very helpful kasi mga tao dito.

anyway, hingi sana ako ng payo, kasi kabibili ko lang ng sedona (carnival)RS...
1. nakita ko ang forum for sedona owners previously, saan na kaya iyon?
2. hingi sana ako ng advise for car alarm for sedona? may nag-advise sa akin to get it from code alarm, okey ba ito? if yes, san kaya ang shop na ito?
3. ano ba magandang tint? gusto ko sana iyung parang 3m magic, maliwanag ang vision from inside->outside, pero hindi kita ang loob ng kotse, including front windshield.

Welcome to Tsikot kaboodle.

Regarding sa car alarm maganda nga po ang Code Alarm. It's the OEM alarm for Mitsu Pajeros and Stradas. Very reliable and durable po siya. You could have one installed from Winterpine which is along Araneta Ave. Sila po ang OEM installer ng Code Alarm for Mitsubishi Union Motors. Other good brands are Clifford, Avital and Viper.

On tints, the 3M brand is one of the best. Goodluck.

or start a thread na rin
2. Code alarm is good, ako nga lang cobra lang ang gamit ko eh
3. 3M ang sikat dito sa pinas, pero ask din sa llumar, mirareed, solargard
mas mura sila

Meron kayang malapit na code alarm oem installer ng kia sa south? medyo malayo kasi ako sa araneta ave., but kung wala, no problem. punta na lang siguro ako this weekend sa araneta ave.

if llumar, mirareed and solarguard has the same quality as 3M but cheaper price, I'll probably go with them... thoughts?

Pasensiya na kayo at ngayon lang kasi ako nag-start mag-accesorise ng auto by myself. previously, puro kasa ako.... eh sa panahon ngayon, kailangang maging cost-effective ka kahit na sa anong bagay

. lalo na at nagtaas na naman ang gas... sigh... :cry: .

Welcome to tsikot kaboodle!

To answer some of your queries:
1. Try this link: New poster pleased as punch with new ride (Kia Sedona LS)
2. Code alarm is a good brand. But as I have pointed out in other alarms posts, brand is not the question here, you should be able to request the seller for a sample on how far can the transmitter reach your vehicle. There are auto accesories shops in Alabang where you could try your luck. But getting it in a much cheaper deal would be Banawe.
3. As hey have pointed out, 3M has its reputation for quality, same goes with the saying "Quality has its own price." You might want to try the 3M Light Magic Tint for clearer visuals when driving at night. Might as well consider other brands that will suit your driving preferences.

Ok naman ang CODE. Iyan ang anti-theft ni Yoli sa Frontier. Sa Alabang ikinabit. Sorry, hindi ko alam exactly where. RATS 4X4 lang ang alam niyang shop doon, eh. Parang hindi naman doon ikinabit.

3M tint is good. I've tried driving an SiR na Panther Black pati windshield. Wala ka talagang makikita from the outside pero malinaw sa loob kahit gabi.

ungas, thanks for the link. i was able to see the lost kia carnival thread from kotse.com. Seeing that discussion, now, i am convinced that there are a lot of satisfied sedona owners. so far, i am very satisfied with mine. comfy ride and ang lakas humatak sa rekta at akyatan.

i will keep you guys informed about my tint and alarm...

kaboodle try mo sa may alabang town center motor town dami dun shop pero madyo mataas ang presyo dun,masworthit pumunta sa banawe kung marami ka rin ipapalagay.
yung clifford na alarm ok din ,yungkay kcboy na pajero naka clifford,tapos may kasama na atang turbo timer kaya mas mura,baka gsto mo kasing maglagay ng turbo timer.

3m dark magic ata ang kailangan mong tint kung gusto mo dark sa labas maliwanag sa inside kasi ang light magic masyadong light kitang kita ka sa loob...pang windshield lang yan..

prices at alabang town center are usually negotiable dapat alam mo lang yung presyo talaga para makatawad mas mataas ang ibang items ang iba pareho lang... kaysa lalakbay ka pa sa banawe na kung wala ka rin kilala minsan lolokohin ka..agree?

Agree.

3M Dark magic for all windows and the rear windshield. 3M Magic neutral for the front windshield. Eto yung nakakabit sa Carnival II namin, hindi naman madilim sa gabi.

We're quite happy with the Carnival II. It has a car-like ride and it's quite spacious. Power is in abundance, although you'll have to stick the preventive maintenance schedule religiously to avoid it from smoke belching.

Palit ka na rin ng busina while you're having the alarm installed. Medyo matapang kasi yung stock horn mo. :lol:

Mga magkano kaya iyung 3M magic tint? At ang mga alarms, like code alert, clifford, viper, etc. Para punta muna ko sa alabang and canvass ng presyo. If the difference is not big, okey na rin ito, kesa bumiyahe pa ako papuntang qc.

IMm29, anong alarm ang gamit mo sa carnival ninyo at saan ka nagpakabit? hindi ba kailangan eh sa casa ikabit ang alarm? and magkano ito?

Kailangan ba ng turbo timer ng carnival?

Umabot ata ng P4-5K yung 3M tint. Lalaki ng mga windows ng Carnival.

Don't have an alarm. We're just using the stock keyless entry.

Hi Kaboodle. Welcome aboard. I'm also a very happy Sedona RS owner. Hindi naman kailangan ng turbo timer, basta may tiyaga ka na sundin yung tamang cooldown period para sa mga turbocharged na makina. Usually, I use the cooldown time to engage my steering wheel lock, organize my things, etc. Drive safely, dude. Remember, the Sedona is much heavier than a sedan, so even if you feel the urge to drive fast, remember to maintain a safe distance from the vehicle in front of you. Mas mahaba yung stopping distance para sa mga van.

Got a Sunguard tint - dark magic (including front and back), so far am happy. Very clear from the inside and hindi ka makita sa loob from the outside, kahit gabi ang liwanag sa loob (parang walang tint), it costs me 5k kasi ang laki daw ng mga bintana ng sedona, especially the front windshield.

For the alarm, am still trying to gather pricing. May korean made na mga 3.5k, 6 months warranty at lifetime warranty ang trabaho (pwedeng ibalik kapag may problema anytime, but not kung sira na ang alarm, may options na ikabit sa ignition key (costs 2.5k addition), okey kaya ito? Ang mahal ng viper, 7K. Meron ding cobra that is about 5K. For now, bumili na lang muna ako ng steering wheel guard habang hindi pa ako nakakapag-decide sa alarm. Okey lang kayang magpakabit ng alarm outside of casa? Or, kailangan sa casa?

Will appreciate any advise...

Maganda rin naman Sungard brands, kaso after a year din sa Starex namin nag fade na agad yung black tint. Itim pa rin naman kaso hindi na ganun kadilim unlike before. Kukupas pa yung tint ng konti after a month tsaka mo makikita yung real color and shade tint nyan.

Kung sa casa ka magpapakabit, mas mahal pa. Same way din kukuha sila sa car accessories shop tapos dun din ikakabit sa loob ng casa. San ka ba bumili ng Sedona mo, Wheels Inc. along E. Rodriguez?

yun nga lang ang napansin ko sa sunguard. overtime, they fade a bit. they don't discolor naman (talong/purple), but they're don't stay as dark.

3M super darks naman aren't as black as they used to be.

NApansin ko yan dati kahit magbihis ang tao sa loob ng van namin hindi kita sa labas, until sometime na ako yung nasa labas nakikita ko na mga passengers ko while parked. :?

Ungas, got my sedona from signet las pinas (in front of southmall). Sabi kasi ng dealer sa akin, computerize na daw ito, at baka hindi alam ikabit ng installer kung sa labas ng casa ko ipakakabit ang alarm. Totoo kaya ito? or sales talk lang? :?:

Kaya ko napili iyung sunguard na dark magic, kasi, nakita ko sa barkada ko. From the inside ang liwanag, pero hindi makita ang loob from the outside, at hindi kulay talong even he's been using it for a year now. Kung sakaling kumupas after a year or so, palagay ko, I just have to choose a long lasting one when that time comes. :wink:

Ipagawa mo na sa labas anti-theft mo. Hindi naman malalaman ng dealer iyan, eh. Yung sa Besta ko dati pinagawa ko sa labas. Akala ng dealer sila nagkabit. Wala namang records iyan, eh. Tignan mo na lang kung anong brand ang meron sila tapos yun ang ipakabit mo sa labas.

Ka-eklatan lang yung computerized ek-ek na iyan. Panahon pa lang ng Besta gumagamit na sila ng mga electronics for the clock, lock, etc. (may black box under the dash). Kayang-kaya kabitan ng third-party iyan.
