hapi new year!![]()
mga sir/madam tanung ko lng anung murang insurance for our pica. mg eexpire na kase feb yung insurance ng kotse ko e or preffered na insurance yung mga gamit nyo.
tnx.
Yep, they're quite easy to maintain. Only thing I've noticed is the a/c filter gets clogged easily. Won't last a year. I just removed the filter. The Nissan Patrol gets by without one, I don't see why the Picanto can't. hehehe. Btw, I always use the a/c in recirculate mode in both vehicles so as not to introduce outside pollutants into the system.
Other than the vandalism incident and minor dents and scrapes (newbie driver, stuff happens), the car is in excellent shape. Inside, there is a small rattle on the driver's lock knob but that may have been due to the installation of the aftermarket alarm and not Kia factory quality.
The stock radio also has an aux in capability (just buy an RCA to baby jack cable which costs around Php75.00) and you can plug in your iPod or other mp3 player and play through the car's sound system. Plugging in the RCA cable does require pulling the radio out. Not a difficult thing to do. The radio surround is just held by clips and the radio itself is just held by four screws.

Hi Guys!
My 2008 picanto is 6mos old, 4000km na. I've kept track of my km/l. Dati I've registered around 13-15km/l for city driving. But lately I've been getting 10-11km/l nalang :-(
Bakit kaya bumaba? Wala namang changes in my way of driving.. Wala rin akong pinagawa, just clutch fluid para lumambot yung clutch.. Pinalitan din ng service center yung hangin ng tires from 28 to 30. I thought baka eto yung culprit so I changed back to 28.. No improvement pa rin.. Ano ba tamang tire inflation?
Sana you can share your insights on this guys..
Could just be worn brake pads. Don't know how much pads cost at the dealership but they won't cost over a thousand at a parts store (figure Php200 for the install).
Of if your car is relatively new, the brakes might just be dirty.

iniisip po kasi namin magpakabit since kulang sa amin yung trunk space lalo kung dadalahin out of town.
I saw one weeks ago. I think its an aftermarket kasi wala naman talagang OEM na roof rails so baka binutas yun.
BTW. For those who are interested in 3rd brake light for 04-07,08. You can send me PM. Also have spoiler, skirts, emblem, etc for Picanto. All OEM
A lot of roads have a crown in the middle to prevent water accumulation. This slight tilt can influence steering.

It should not be that way. When my PIcanto was new, the clutch was very soft and the pedal "bites" immediately. But as the car gets older, the clutch pedal develops a "play" and becomes increasingly harder to press (I haver it fixed already.) Have the Kia dealer check the clutch cable first. There is a way to check whether your hard clutch is a symptom of a serious problem in the clutch or transmission or merely a case of the clutch cable's normal wear and tear... as happened in my case.

Clutch Diagnostic Testl.
If you find that your clutch has failed, here is an at-home diagnostic test that anyone can perform:
1. Start your car, set the parking break, and put the car in neutral.
2. With your car idling, listen for a growling noise without pushing the clutch in. If you hear something, it's most likely a problem with the transmission. If you don't hear a noise, proceed to step three.
3. With the car still in neutral, begin to push the clutch and listen for noise. If you hear a chirping noise as you press, it's most likely the clutch release, or throw-out bearing. If you don't hear a noise, proceed to step four.
4. Push the clutch all the way to the floor. If you hear a squealing noise, it's probably the pilot bearing or bushing.
If you don't hear any noise during these four steps, then your problem is probably not the clutch. If you hear the noise at idle and it goes away when the clutch is pressed, it may be an issue in the contact point between the fork and pivot bal
As for my Picanto (Sept. 2004 model- will be five years old this September):
In a nutshell: So far, so good.
I brought my Picanto today at Kia Mandaluyong (Kia Signet) for its 93000 km service. I also have them look at the clutch pedal and cable since the pedal gradually became very hard to press over these last several days, not to mention it has a very ample "play." Fortunately, my suspicion that it was merely a matter of replacing the clutch cable proved correct (I used the above home test.) Kia Mandaluyong found that there's wrong with the transmission nor with the clutch assembly itself. They examined the cable and it was beyond lubrication. So it was replaced.
When I first stepped on the clutch after my car's service just this afternoon, I thought my foot sliiped through a hole on the floor! That was how soft the clutch was now. It took some getting used to. Also they adjusted the new cable so that the clutch "bites" immediately. I love it! It's like driving a new Picanto again, heheh
Safe driving, fellows!
Hello fellow Picanto owners! Long time no post, heheh. Nice to read this thread once again
Let me address the above question based on my own experience, with a caveat that your mileage may vary, so to speak.
The clutch pedal action should not be that way. When my PIcanto was new, the clutch was very soft and the pedal "bites" immediately. But as the car gets older, the clutch pedal develops a "play" and becomes increasingly harder to press (I haver it fixed already.) Have the Kia dealer check the clutch cable first. I figured I am quite fortunate with my Picanto. No serious troubles. Hindi pa tumirik kahit minsan. One click start. Engine power seems to be the same as new (its just my observation.) Still 15-17km/liter NLEX-EDSA driving, but his may drop due to traffic at Balintawak cloverleaf due to MRT construction.
Safe driving, fellows!
