Yes, you can overtake those buses along NLE BUT it's going to be tricky. During acceleration on low kph range, the 1.1liter Picanto can easily overtake vehicles with massive engines (3.0liters +) owing to their heavier momentum. But once those trucks get up to stretch, it is difficult for this small car to keep pace. I don't bother as I prefer the leisurely 80-90kph.

At 110kph, 5th gear, the tach swings to about 3000rpm. It's still behind the 6000rpm red line which means you can push it some more. For me, while it gives more enjoyable driving experience below 100kph, it will give you the juice when you need to run faster.

Bottomline, if you are a speed driver buti pa iwan mo na ang Picanto then get your Civic or Altis out.

Advice ko lang, the P330th price of the Picanto is just right. If I had P600th, I'd have gotten a Vios or a City. The Picanto costs less because it does not have the more luxurious body and comfort features of those other cars- as well as the "price that goes with the name."

I am very happy with this car because it's performance, looks and practically exceeded my personal expectations. Don't take my word for it. If you can, schedule a test drive or at least sit in one in a show room when available.

PS. Not to sound boastful but whether in admiration or contempt, the Picanto is also head-turner. Folks go the parking lot and take pictures of this car with their cell phones. Perhaps the best example was, one night near SM North, the driver of a nice 2004 Honda City rolled down his window and checked out my car's logo. Magsasawa din sila dyan. In the meantime, I try to enjoy the stares. Eheheh.

I cancelled my reservation at signet boni.

I made my reservation last 9/27/2004 and they said that it will be delivered to their show room on third week of october.
Actually, it is ok for me to wait.

What change my mind is on the fact that the specs they mentioned to me during my reservation is different to what they
will release. From 14" to 13" rim and ako pa tuwawag para malaman na ganito.

i filed my cancellation request last friday(oct 15). till now, the check is for signing.... daw. The point is, if it took them lots of time just to sign a 5000 pesos check, how about after sales transaction like for repairs while your car is within the warranty period?

Btw, Picanto was also picked by Autocar as the best budget car in UK. Picanto displaced Fiat Panda on the top spot.

wala pa siya one week pero sabi ni cary try ko ng monday
tapos ngayon sabi wala pa rin daw yung mag sisign, call ko raw siya ng 1pm. I already have a bad experience before(not with cars) for refund na kaya pala matagal e hindi talaga pinasok yung pera sa kaha.Nagsettle na lang outside their store.


my agent is toni mora, i know that the second batch bumbers are black. rims are 13". Pero sya kasi siya nagpilit na it is 14 inches.
for this reason kaya ako nagpacancel. ill try on other dealers na lang like wheels sa e. rod. pede pa outside ang insurance(ang sabi...)

kapag meron ka na contact from e.rod sabihin mo sa kin kung cno and yung contact no. nya. isa nga rin sa iniisip ko e yung mahal na insurance ng casa as compared kung outside mo kukunin. nag hirap lang sa e.rod e napakahaba na ata ng waiting list, parang nasulat dito dati na lagpas 40 na ata lahat. sabihin mo na lang doon sa agent mo na meron ka irerefer na kukuha din baka makatsamba ng discount.

hehe....actually balita ko mas matipid and mas maganda ride ng 13 inch na rim. kasi mas makapal yung rubber ng tires non so ang effect may cushion effect.

alex, san ka bibili ng kotse? gusto mo sabay tayo para makahirit tayo sa freebies. sa prince motors free ang lto reg and sa tingin ko mamimigay sila free seat cover and tint and matting kapag at least 3 to 5 people ang bibili ng picanto. mas may bargaining power tayo pag marami tayo

pre sorry to hear about your problem with signet boni. my agent was carrie and during that time she was very helpful and efficient. let's see about the future after sales service.

for those who want to buy the Picanto with plastic door panels and dashboard, tingnan nyo rin kung ok lang sa inyo ang hard plastic. when driving on really rough roads, merong ingay sa rear door panel and inside the dash near the stereo compartment. not metallic sound. plastic talaga. siguro dahil sa tagtag sa daan, merong lumuwag na plastic parts. hindi naman malakas, happens only on rough roads and when I hit bumps. totally silent along the expressway.

this is not a criticism but merely an acceptance of reality of the car. although maganda yung design, plastic is plastic. paglagpas ko sa warranty period babaklasin ko yung door panel and stereo. pag ngayon ko gagawin baka may masira pa ako, di ko pa naman alam, hehe. hindi naman distorbo.

tol, ok lang sa akin yung picture taking and curious looks of other drivers. i try to enjoy the attention it while it lasts, hahaha. sa totoo lang, maganda talaga ang ilaw ng picanto lalo na yung sa likod pagnakasindi sa gabi. tingnan mo. this was pointed out to me by my wife when I parked the car one night. wala pa akong planong baguhin sa kotse. satisifed pa ako as it is. maybe i'll change tint and stereo after a year or two. di masyadong maganda yung tunog ng Kia stereo (aray ko! heheh) maganda para sa akin yung black steel rims with silver cover na parang mags. baka hindi ko na talaga palitan yun.

the cheesy grille is just what turns me off from a really good subcompact car.



couldn't decide on what kind of aftermarket grill would fit best... a horizontal slat grille would look nice though...

Prince motors is along commonwealth ave., near sandiganbayan ata. Although naka pila na ako sa delta motors marikina (no freebies) , i am looking also at prince motors (free lto reg) and Wheels distributors. I think my brother knows the owner of wheels distributors. So i might be able to get a good deal.

I am not sure about the insurance thing. One thing is for sure, sa labas ko kukunin yan. Guys magkano ba ang insurance ng picanto?, magcacanvass rin ako then ipo post ko dito.

We will talk about the car club when i get my car.

May fog lamps na available at delta motors. SRP is 1800 per pair. Spoiler (unpainted) is 4800 yata.

Latest news (or rumors )from Delta motors. Around the third week of nov. ang dating ng picanto pero limited stocks lang. Sa December madami daw dadating.

ei,guys.i was kinda set on getting a picanto kaya lang ang tagal!e i needed a car na...decided to get a 2nd hand exalta na lang muna for the same price,i'll wait for the a/t euro version na lang (besides,my 4yr old daughter disapproved of d picanto saying twas too small & she simply loved the sunroof of the exalta so...) anyway,if ur getting one from kia mandaluyong, look for nia. from all the dealers i talked to,she was the most helpful&sincere.even helped me get a new manual for my carnival (i misplaced my old one kc).cute pati if that's one of ur criterias :D

yup, kay nia rin ako nagpareserve and one thing i liked about that agent is her honesty. yun nga lang mukhang hindi cla gaano natrain regarding the picanto, wala cla gaanong masabi tungkol sa car unlike sa mga nababasa ko dito sa tsikot.
