No takers for this thread. Actually, if you go over this article, it points out what CACC did to butcher the brand image in the Philippines & there are more than a couple of reasons why:
    1. Should read “Not easy on your wallet”. While the brand offering in the US market is meanth to compete with the other Asian & European brands, Kia is hoping the gains it makes in the US will resonate all over the world. Unfortunately, it does not. Which brings us to.....
    2. No. 7 points out that “Quality is truly King” in the US but not in the Philippines. The options loaded for the Philippine market pales in comparison to that in the US. How can they push the car to sell well in the US with all the bells & whistles for a very tempting price & not do it here in the Philippines? Only thing I can think of is that the car is Made in the USA & ours is imported from Korea. But aren’t all things Made in the USA supposed to be more expensive?
    3. No. 8 says “Loaded on Luxury”. Again, what we get here are stripped down versions riding on the popularity & reputation of the versions they sell in the US.
    4. Well, no. 10 says “The future looks bright”. With the exit of CACC & the entry of Ayala, we are all optimistic for the brand....now. But it remains to be seen whether Ayala will be able to resurrect the image butchered by CACC.

I just hope Ayala corp. listens to their customers. As what the author says in conclusion of his article:
“Love or hate them, once you take into account all of the accomplishments and advantages, it’s impossible to ignore the fact that Korean automakers have earned their keep and have one hell of a success story to tell”

Ayala just needs properly equipped cars. Nobody wants a sunroof, and this option makes the price go up too much.

First thing they should do is listen to the consumer, like a survey of what’s in & not. The cars are so stripped down for the RP market. Then again, what do consumers really want in their cars. If we list down the current US spec’d toys, we can do without some. Here are some of the toys currently offered in the US market. There are some more I didn’t mention:
    Sunroof
    Lane departure warning
    AWD (good for snow)
    Collision mitigation system
    Automatic parking
    Parking assist
    Smart welcome system
    Heated seats & steering wheel
    6 airbag system
    Auto wipers
    Auto headlight
    Leather seats
    Blind spot warning
    Static bending lights
    Stability control
    Sat nav
    AVN

Most, if not all of these toys are offered in other brands, but it also shoots the price of the car up, wAy beyond reasonable. Of course, consumers would like all the goodies in there for the cheapest price possible.

Primarily to let the sun help in warming up a vehicle during cold season ... also can be used as an escape hatch ...

I bought a K2700 and a K2500 only because it is the only small van with 4x4 capabilities and I need those capabilities. Both were a very unpleasant experience to say the very list. The K2700 I bought 2 years ago had its aircon failed in 1 month. And Kia said I have to wait for 6 months for the parts to arrive from Korea, So I had it repaired in my suking aircon repair shop because I cannot wait.

This year I needed another 4x4 Van so I bought another Kia K2500 from a different dealer because I was really frustrated with the first one, The sales agent sent me a formal quotation for a P10,000 discount and free 3M tint. When they delivered the unit, My EA complained that the tint was not 3M. The supervisor said that we already got a P10,000 discount and that the sales agent was not authorized to give free 3M tint, even if the email was signed by the agent and their supervisor. So I complained to the President of the Dealership and to Kia itself. There was no reply. Ded-Ma lang. BTW my unit was delivered last February until now wala pa ang OR/CR. May na.

I say that Kia is run by unscrupulous people here in the Philippines. Don't ever buy a Kia if you have a choice. Kukulo ang dugo ninyo. Lousy easily gets defective brand , With Lousy Dealership who will do everything not to honor the warranty of your vehicle with sales agents who are liars and dishonest and would promise you everything just to close the deal.

BTW, Some of you might think that I am bashing this brand, And Yes I indeed am because of terrible experiences with the brand, the sales people and the dealership. PM me and I will send you copies of the invoices of the 2 Kia's that I bought.

Our Mazda 3 is 14 years old. Absolutely no leaks on the moon roof and the motor still works great.

Although wala siyang use aside from aesthstics IMO.

i just checked the sorento spec, i think its updated na, its super bare and its stil 1.85M

tinanggal na pala yun panoramic sunroof. 5 inch monochrome display? who wants this?

sell at 2m with decent features. look at the titanium premium, ang daming buyers.

also look at the base diesel sorento in au.. kahit yun base ng au pwede na.

for 1.85m I would rather get a ppv with 6+ airbags and stability control and brake assist. reversing camera and android auto.

though this sorento would be a steal if it were 1.7m [emoji28]

I could have purchased a Sorento the last time.

I was about to pull the trigger, but the SA/Branch was a big disappointment. And the SRP was on the high side....

Saved about P500K a few months later by opting for a MS instead.
