November 3rd, 2006 12:28 AM #2Kia is still a predominantly South Korean automaker under Hyundai. They are not under any European manufacturers' corporate umbrella.
Kia/Hyundai just happen to sell lots of vehicles in Europe as their products are well suited for European markets.
Kia also has a European HQ AFAIK.
