This guy's probably a sales agent the way he's pushing the Kia Soul making it sound like it's the best option available. At that price people would rather get a Toyota Innova.

In some amgles, the new colors of the Adventure do look like the older model Kia Souls, same boxy exterior, almost similar tail lights, and it's bigger pa. Plus Mitsu has made it standard to all their mainstream cars na equipped with touchscreen. The Adventures are also common-rail

Yan ang Hindi alam ng Hyundai, Chevy and now Kia, kaya nilalalangaw ang sakes ng accent , spin and probably Kia nila compared to the adventures. Economies of Scale ang laban ni Mitsu, Hindi pbaguhan ng models. After all most diesels are meant to be workhorses.

The threat to the leading Adventure now is the upcoming Mahindras and Tata, if they can maintain their cars 20% cheaper than the Adventure.

So the Soul at 1.02M is already too expensive. like I said, the economies of scale strategy of Mitsu with the Montero non-VGT AT at 1.1M+ minus big discounts make the soul overpriced

Unless you are referring to another or non-PhDM Adventure, but AFAIK the PhDM Mitsubishi Adventure still uses the same SOHC, multi-rail, 4D56 engine (the same engine minus the turbo used in the Gen1 Pajero). Its definitely not CRDI.

Maybe you missed that I already own an Innova G, so another one would be outright dull-assed stupid, 'no?

Maybe you're a Toyota SA hounding other threads, bashing all other cars to keep your 9-10 year old models in sights of unsuspecting tsikot prospects.

I hope you won't mind that I'm about to close a deal with a 50k discount, 'no? You can keep your near-teenager Innova or Adventure or what have you, & leave us with the new-born vgt Souls whiz by your jurrasic clunkers, oops, ours pala since I have one about to-be garage queen... :-)

All other SA's, kindly read and appreciate:

In the US, the Soul outsold all other hatch crossovers combined, twice over (must find that youtube clip). It must be doing something right:

This thread is not about you, was referring to other people. And yes, some people do own more than one Innova. You do realize you're the only one keeping this thread updated and sound like a desperate sales agent.

For the price of a Kia Soul, one would consider a Mazda3, Ford Ecosport (even if it has Powershift issues), Toyota Innova (current one does not look so good), Toyota Corolla, etc.

Other people your face. You're referring to me alright.

So what's it to you if I'm favoring the Soul over all the others in your list, which you yourself shot down on more than one occasion. Might be that I did all the research in those other vehicles, too, and found them, like you did, wanting...

For my perceived needs, I really don't appreciate the heft and height of the Innova, which does a wonderful 10 city and 12 on my last Baguio trip, nor does my ailing knee care for the cuteness but low ride height of my perky 1.4 Getz, an 8 city/14 hway pocket rocket. Nor would I want to curse a Montero or Fortuner every day should I go even bigger, due to my physical limitations. The Innova is my upper limit, thank you.

So what does the Soul have that I am really liking at the moment:

    - Goldilocks ride height, ingress & egress for my aging knees,
    - Its tech toys, upgrades me from what my other two don't have
    - It's AUTOMATIC, allows me to rest my worsening left knee
    - DIESEL, a vgt at that, which gives me humongous TORQUE, which I crave for.
    - Boxy design, reminiscent of my first ride, an owner jeep
    - Hatch design, I LOVE hatches! I still have two, btw...
    - Did I say it's DIESEL?
    - Since I love to joyride around Luzon, this baby gives me what, a potential 900-1,000 KM PER FULL TANK. You can't touch that, even with a new Jazz. It's sister Accent can, but I hate low riders now
    - ABS, airbags, 4 wheel disk brakes! ABS primarily, a recent believer
    - Did I say Goldilocks ride height? Yes I did..
    - CRDI VGT, nope, mentioned that too...
    - and finally but most importantly, the COLOR which is approved by the commander-in-chief... and in-your-face ACID GREEN, found nowhere else but in the SOUL. Like in that Youtube link above.

Maybe my endorsement is a bit over the top, but that's what the SOUL stands for, doesn't it?

Which reminds me... Time to refund that 5K reservation for the Jazz... :-)

Look at your gf or wife. Soak the image in...

Now look at Marian Rivera's FHM releases. Compare in your mind...

Now look at your wife again.... You still love her, right? Left?

That's why panget doesn't count. It's to the beholder nga, di ba?

It counts, but is very subjective. When was buying a car a completely objective affair anyway?

Thing is, the boxy looks of the Soul don't appeal to majority of people. Sure, you might like it, edi bumili ka.

But I wouldn't be surprised if people would dismiss the Soul even if it's a practical car with decent space and an efficient engine, just because it doesn't look good to them.

Why do you resurrect an erroneous post? Binati ko na yan much earlier.

    That' a M/T, my friend. It's 290K for a previous gen 4-speed auto.

Not a fair option at all... and it's too tall for my liking. But that's me.

Now, why won't you just be happy for people who prefers a left field choice? I like Scary Spice, gata in dinuguan, Huey Lewis and peanut butter on hotdog.

What counts is we stay courteous on the road, wave at those who sneer at this boxy thingamajig, and be on our contented, long distance with barely-a-stop journey.

Hip to be Square, 'no? :-)

Im not hating on anyone who buys the Soul.

Go and be merry with it, just dont expect many others to make the same purchase.

kanya-kanyang trip kasi. kaya nga "soul" ang name ng kotse because it is intended for a niche market, kinda hip-left field thing. i hated it the first time i saw it but have grown to appreciate its eccentric beauty later such that i always take a second look every time i meet one on the road. it is not for everybody so let the guy who loves it love it. it ain't your pussy so let him be.

    basta huwag lang bitek!
