I have a better idea, get the CR-V then convert it into LPG O diba mas gwapo na ride mo kaysa mga Koreans, mas matipid ka pa Basta handa kang mawala warranty mo

Dunno I didn't do the math. It might take 3-4 years (my quick estimate) maybe depende sa mileage mo. I also haven't asked conversion cost for CR-V basta yung Accord ko dati nagtanong ako P23,000-P26,000 lang LPG conversion...

    just some inputs.
    hope this helps.
if you're into brand, seat less and no bearing on the skyrocketing fuel prices, get the CRV.
if you want to seat more, less fuel consumption and comfort, get the carens crdi-vgt.
it's a good car. (you can read the thread for the carens for some addt'l info)
you might want to consider the all new carnival.
i choose it over the innova.
it depends really on what you need.
for me it's always the comfort and safety.
    happy hunting.

Just to add info for environmentalist: Modern Diesel is MORE environment friendly than a gas engine. Diesel emmits less NOx than gas engine. The problem with old school diesel is the particualte matters (black smoke) but this is solved already by CRDis....

So CRDI diesel (vs gas) wins in the ff:
    - economy, efficiency
    - power/torque (if vgt)
    - less emmision of harmful NOx, as you can observe in Europe, more diesel given a tighter emmision standards

So many criteria pointing to CRDi Diesel . Unless you have a compelling reason for Gasoline, staw away from it else you might regret everytime to visit the pumps

I know you are a fan of CRDi. Pero you have top consider its price difference with gas engines. Hindi sya automatic dapat CRDi na kukunin mo. Like me, I run 6000-7000km a YEAR. The price difference of gas to diesel is P6/L. Di ko na yan mababawi even in 10 years with my mileage. Tinatamad ako mag compute pero I will do it if requested and show you that at low mileage (15,000km and below per year) you are still better of with gas. Unlike diesel upfront yung cost (via the more expensive vehicle) sa gas at least hulugan yung cost at the pump at a rate of P6/L (and will narrow in the future I might add).

Kung CRV is a consideration, tama si Mschumacher, also consider the Sportage. CRDI with VGT na rin. The CRV will be eating its dust on the road. Fuel consumption is very good, and it uses a cheaper fuel pa. Baka may libreng poster pa ni Nadal.
The sportage is still has no VGT in its turbo. thats their downside sa lahat yata ng model ng hyundai kia its just their mini SUV that were not equipped with VGT.

Really depends on your mileage pero at 15000kms/year, mag crdi ka na.
Sample computation. If the price difference is about 100k.
    15,000km/6kpl gas=2500 liters*58(unleaded)= php 145,000.00
    15,000km/10kpl diesel=1500 liters*50= php75,000.00
At this rate 2 yrs lang bawi na.

Teka sa iyo 6-7000kms/year. Is that for just one car or all of your cars?
My wife who takes the kids to school gets more than that. 20km lang round trip nya.
Of course consider also FC ng brands na kino-consider dahil baka more than 2 yrs abutin.

That is per car samin. Yung Landcruiser mga 4000/year lang since its my weekend car pero yung Accord mga ganun nga around 6000-7000 a year. I anticipate my Civic to be also the same since I alternate both cars on weekdays.

You could get past 15k then if you have to use just one car. I still like gas engines though, kasi tahimik. It's really the pump price thats driving me nuts! CRDi still not as quiet as gas engines but its a big improvement over the old, clunky conventional diesels.

I don't know about you guys, but may color coding so I need at the very least 2 cars. So sa scenario ko I still need to buy 2 diesel cars which is expensive and since single ako I prefer sedans and no I don't like the Accent it looks like a taxi (apologies to the Accent owners) Sana idala na ng Honda yung Civic diesel sa 'pinas...

Tidus, I totally agree with you on Civic because of the total package (car design, etc) and the hi-tech gas engine. Kahit papano, you get the best-in-class gas mileage on civic. But if it is not a car (a van, SUV, etc), It has to be diesel because you need the torque to pull the heavy body and the cargo. Otherwise, you will overload the gas engine and it will become a gas guzzler. I have a Ford Focus 2.0 hatch, an escape 2.3 gas but my favorite is my CRDI carens

Honda CRV auto-lpg conversion can be lower than 60K... in fact you can have it done at around P40K.

    ghosthunter,
how about escape 2.3? is it Tartarini kit? I'm having a second thought on it because I bought a 5 years warranty. I know it will void engine warranty. What's your opinion?

Parang may similar thread ito sa CAR COMPARISON.
    Parang naguluhan din ako.
    Let us list your priorities:
    1. space --can seat at least 7, di po ba ito pinaka-importante sa consideration?
    2. safety and comfort
    3. AT
Basically pinagpilian eh MPV vs. SUV?

The Kia Carnival is a good choice given the criteria. Medyo mahal nga lang. Pero wala sa consideration mo.

As mentioned, the Innova can really satisfy the above criteria at a relatively lower price. But you mentioned ayaw nyo. The Grand Livina is somewhat small. The Carens is a good choice but price now reached 1.1-1.2M.

Since you seem to have a preference for SUV (you consider the Tucson and the Honda CRV ,both 5-seaters) and don't mind the over-a million price range, may I suggest then the Ford Everest.

It is a 7-seater vehicle and relatively safe with the airbags and sturdy construction. Ang medyo compromise lang is the ride quality and comfort because it is from a truck-based platform. But space definitely meron. And power to boot.

The only other minor problem I can find is if this would lady-driven.

Anyway, in the end you will know what vehicle you need. These are just suggestions.

    HTH.

Yeah everest is a good suggestion. The size is somewhat big for a lady to drive nga lang. So I would suggest to get the livina instead. You get a zippy all-aluminum gas engine, good-looking Murano-like front fascia, excellent overall geomtery, car-like driving dynamics that seats 6 to 7 in absolute comfort and a promise of fuel economy.....all at a price well below 1M.

Perfect for a lady to drive for years and years to come.

By the way, the TS should indicate if she already bought something para di naman sayang ang mga suggestions.

Now that the price difference between gas and diesel is only about 1 peso, is it still economically sound to buy a diesel powered vehicle?
