November 12th, 2002 08:41 AM #1My brother is sold on buying a 91 Pride, the hatchback type. Now, we're very used to Lancers so we're not sure what to expect with this car.
Can you guys give any comments about it? Fuel-consumption, handling, speed, engine, reliability, air-con, etc etc.
thanks in advance.

under powered especially with the aircon on.
fuel consumption is relatively better than most economy cars on the road.
aircon is just so-so.
based on my experience in a 98 Kia Pride sedan.

HB type. eto yung CD-5?
excellent fuel consumption. kaya yata 18 kms/liter nun. very good for city driving. medyo alagaan nyo lang maigi specially yung aircon dahil medyo mabilis masira ang compressor nya.

November 12th, 2002 11:23 AM #4Thanks for the replies guys. Now, another question.
Would you guys recommend it for daily driving and some occasional (possibly weekly) trips to San Pablo, Laguna?
Thanks again.

experiences ko sa CD 5 before, kapag highway nakaka 20-25km/liter ako. Pero sa city mga 11km/li lang. Yung aircon nung CD5 ko dati is ESL and it sux big time. Kung alaga ang CD 5 mo, pwede na pagtiyagaan sa highway. Di naman sobrang bagal. Nakaka 110kmh ako dati everyday from Bulacan to Manila. Sagad ko is 155kmh going to Subic. OK ito sa baha. Di tumitirik. Medyo magaan lang talaga ang buong auto.

a friend just got rid of his cd-5 after about 4 mos of ownership...he had the weirdest experiences with it...nabuksan at ninakawan sya..sinikwat yung rear glass ng hatchback...tapos nagloloko aircon...namamatayan ng lang bigla...and the last nawawalan ng preno...eh kasi ayun gusto mag tipid kaya cd5 binili nya..he traded it in for a sentra grand touring..eh di kung sa direct na lang sya sa mga jap na 1.3 or 1.6 kahit luma d mas ok...doble pa tuloy gastos..so if i were u save yourself the trouble...get a more decent 2nd hand

Well, if you have around 200k to 250k budget for a car, I would strongly suggest in buying a Sentra. Its one of the best value for your money cars on the 2nd hand market today. Honda & Toyota cars might also be good value but its priced higher than a similiar age & model Nissan car.
