A good buy would have been the first models introduced (not sure if late 2016 to 2017), the EX 2wd at P1.445M and EX 4WD at P1.515. Both are high specc’d cars offering auto light, rain sensing wipers, traction control, downhill & uphill assist among others, compared to the later models LX and SL (the latest) which were decontented, the latter was introduced just this Feb and was affected by the TRAIN that pushed the price to P1.495. The GT Line 2WD has everything the AWD has except the sunroof & AWD (P1.725 vs 1.795). There are so many of this in the big dealerships but it is too expensive. Still cheaper than the higher specc’d CRV diesel though.

bibilin nila Kia, hanggang ngaun di mag-pickup pickup sales ng VW. How come VW is #1 worldwide pero ayala can't even sell like 200 a month.

the reason ang mahal ng benta ng Ayala, dapat kasi iparehas sa Toyota / Honda ang pricing and specs.

sa Kia ngaun Picanto na lang kilala, Columbian has destroyed all other kia models, forte, rio, sportage, sorento. dati nakakalaban pa sorento sa mid SUV race eh.

eto naman si Ayala ni isang VW model hindi maging household name, matunog ba ang pangalan Jetta, kasing tunog pa ng Vios or City or even accent man lang. no.

wala na kwenta pagusapan pa ito even if Ayala bought it.

The only way this Kia brand will have a comeback is if they offer value for money vehicles, like what Suzuki is doing right now. cuthroating the competition.

actually, ganda ng setting ngaun eh, now that almost all popular vehicles eh ang taas na coz of excise tax, may window of opportunity to grab the market.

Pero Ayala, I doubt eh lahat gusto nyan mahal.

That’s kinda weird. Ayala Corp. ownes import rights to Honda & Isuzu & you can see by the sheer number of these on the road that promotion of these brands is very successful. VW, being a European brand, is targeted only for a certain market sector. It is targeted for the masses in Europe, but not Asia. The cars are too expensive for the common Pinoy.

With the current VW pricing in the local market, it is not too expensive for the usual Pinoy car buyer. A Jetta costs as much a Civic or Altis while the Polo is priced like a City/Vios. The Passat is priced like an Accord. Only the Touareg can be tagged as expensive but it is cheaper than its platform siblings (Audi Q7/Porsche Cayenne) or the more popular Toyota LC200.

    Case #2- Kia Sportage CRDi

Nung unang labas last 2012 or 2013, ang dami features and at the same time, competitive pa yung pricing.

Then the following year after, pa-konti ng pa-konti yung features pero yung price tumataas din ng konti. (E.g.-Steering wheel control, foglights, etc.)

Hoping na mabalik talaga yung early 2010's na time ng Kia na sobrang competitive sila.

    Here we go

"We confirm that our wholly-owned subsidiary, AC Industrial Technology Holdings, Inc., through one of its group companies, has received notice from Kia Motors Asia Regional headquarters that it has considered the Ayala group as “the preferred bidder” to start negotiations for the Kia distributorship in the Philippines. However, no definitive terms have been reached and we will make the appropriate disclosure of any agreement reached.”

Nice move Ayala, Kia have good products kaso di ko lang talaga maintindihan ang strategy ng Columbian Autocar Corp. Maybe they can fix it similar to how Berjaya revived Mazda.

With regards to Volks, tingin ko their pricing is just right. What they needed is more dealerships since many car buyers would want a peace of mind na yung casa is malapit to their home or work. Unfortunately, they won't be a household name unless they offer an SUV version of the Amarok with the same price as the MS or Everest.

The Amarok is a niche product in VW's line of global platforms. Unless VW sees the possibility of making money out of PPVs in Europe and North America will they join in the PPV market. North America and Europe are still the big auto markets and these areas are not friendly to PPV platforms.

If I am not mistaken Ph ang one of the top consumer, if not the top consumer, of these PPVs. Sa mga nababasa ko, South Africa, Australia, at some countries in the middle east lang ata avaiabale, well aside from our Asean neighbors.
