sa unang tingin maganda ang all new picanto..i was even almost decided to get a unit..but based on the complaints from the several owners and some blogs re the car, nasa 8-10 km/l (city driving) lang daw ang tinatakbo ng picanto considering na 1.0 engine lang sya..kung isa o dalawa lang ang may ganong comment puwedeng kong isipin na nasa driving condition lang ang problem , pero kung marami sila mapapaisip ka na..i do not know if yong mga iba pang owners have the same experience..ang sabi sa isang published article re the new picanto, nasa 18-20 or even 21 km/l (city driving) and 28 km/l on highway driving daw ang tinatakbo nya kaya ako naattrack. kaya disappointing sya kasi di ganon ang lumalabas sa mga reactions.. hopefully maging aware ang kia motors sa mga ganong reactions at maayos nila yong problem for the next batch ng mga units..another thing, ang daming tinanggal na specs from the original standard'[lalo na sa safety features. sa philippine version wala nang abs, airbags, management stability control, side repeater etc. kaya pakiramdam ko overpriced yong picanto..i'm also a prospective buyer and i am very sensitive on buyinng cars kasi hard-earned money ang pinaguusapan dito.. and my comment is based sa mga recent comments ng mga owners at sa pagreresearch ko sa mga brands in the a-segment at regarding sa philippine version ng picanto (sayang gustong gusto ko p naman ang titanium silver when i saw it at north edsa branch of kia)..kung nasa europe ka ok magpicanto kasi kumpleto ang specs nya don (ewan ko lang kung may problem rin s gas consumption nya).after sales service? wala akong idea. baka ok naman sila. so, is the new picanto a good buy? for me, until the company provides enough explanation or fixes the problem at maglagay sila ng additional safety features, i won't consider buying one.. i'm now reconsidering celerio, it's the only brand in the a-segment that has abs(with ebd and brake assist) and dual airbags..and even to my surprise, though it is the lowest in height and shortest in lenght compared to its rivals, it is the widest among them..thats why enough rin lang naman pala yong rear seat for 3 adults nong ako mismo ang umupo with the agent and his co-worker. at ok rin lang naman ang head room at legroom nya kahit sya ang shortest at lowest in dimension since di naman tayo mga ibang nationals na malalaki at matatangkad. but being comfortable with interior space will still depend on the buyer..s kin kasi enough yong space nya. regarding exterior design, again, how a car looks is subjective.. but i share the impression of others that celerio's exterior design is a combination of simplicity and elegance. the best selling point of the celerio- according to the owners- is it's consistent fuel efficiency..it may not comform with the 34 km/l DoE ecorun evaluation for highway driving..pero kahit sabihin mo na mas mababa ron ang nakukunsumo for both highway and city driving with traffic, matipid p rin daw talaga..ngalang hindi power window ang rear window ng celerio..pero puwede naman daw ayusin yon para maging powered n rin - with addtional cost of course. what about chev spark? for me, ok sana. consistent rin ang tipid sa fuel consumption nya. durable rin sya, ok rin ang space s loob at may airbag sa driver's side..ngalang di ako kumportable sa exterior design nya ( again aethetics is subjective)..another thing is may kamahalan ang PMS at spare parts nya at medyo maghihintay ka pa ng ilang linggo for the replacement of the parts just in case your car gets damaged..pero kung ok s yo ang looks nya at bearable s yo ang cost ng PMS at yong s spareparts nya, i think ok yong chev spark. by the way, chevrolet philippines topped the 2010 after sales service of the year, followed by suzuki philippines. sa hyundai i10? may mga nababasa akong reactions mula s ibang owners na may rattling sound sya sa may bandang steering wheel at 'tok' sound sa rear side pagbraking..wala akong alam na update kung naayos yong ganong problem..pero with i10, it really feels roomy inside. ok lang ang dating s kin ng exterior design nya..i mean di ka mapapawow pero di ka rin naman mapapangitan sa design nya..wala akong nababasang complaint sa fuel consumption nya kung mataas..hopefully makatulong itong input ko s pagdedecide mo re picanto..for me, celerio so far is the best and fits my needs..tha's why i'm reconsidering it..if you really want to check the picanto, go to north edsa branch sa tapat ng iglesia ng kristo..look for angel mabait sya at ok sya magaccomodate ng prospective buyer..kahit anong tanong mo ieentertain nya kahit pa magtagal kayo..but make sure na may available na unit don for showroom..don't go to manila bay branch ..nadisappoint ako s agent na kausap ko don..di ka ganon asikaso..hope you'll reach the right decision..good luck..

sir russellian... pasalamat ka hindi ka inentertain sa kia manila bay... we had a very bad experience there.. yes, we were entertained there, but when the deal went wrong, inabot kami ng almost a month to get our refund... we bought our picanto sa kia pasay (dun din namin nabili yung sorento namin last 2009) ok ang after sales nila dun and service people, our agent is Ms. Marlyn (the best yan!), and and service reception/advisor is sir henson.... about the fuel consumption, well according to the trip computer, city driving averages 10-12L/100km and hi-way averages 4L/100km... the ride is good.... kaya lang, mukhang may problema lang talaga unit na napunta sa amin, there's a "clak-ing" sound sa makina, kapag START sa umaga which lasts around 10 seconds (when in reverse position or when we turn-on the aircon), pero nawawala naman kapag ginamit na buong araw, but comes back again kinabukasan...napansin ko yung sound the next morning na pinickup ko unit... in fairness to kia pasay, inaasikaso naman nila concerns namin...i brought the unit to their service twice, mukhang give up na sila, nagawa na nila lahat ng alam nila..... scheduled na yung taga-planta to visit my unit tomorrow... don't know what will happen next... but hopefully, sana maayos na.....

according to my service advisor, they tested their display units, wala naman daw yung sound... before i forget, pangit nga pala ang head unit ng picanto, jvc nga, pero when you're in the passenger seat or second row, hindi mo na mabasa ang display, that's why we're planning to upgrade the head unit, but we have to deal with the sound problem first.

Aircon? Electronic power steering? Na-try mo na ba i-compute yung FC ng Picanto mo by your own calculator method?

Maraming salamat sa inyong 2...sana ay mas dumami pa ang magbigay ng inputs...yun nga lang baka pag hindi dumami eh baka ang ibig sabihin nun eh konti lang talaga ang bumil ng bagong Kia Picanto...

The all-new Kia Picanto doesn't look so bad, but the 3-cyl engine is often reported to have some harshness and a high vibration.

sir erick.. udpate.. got my picanto back last friday.. since then wala na yung sound... kia plant technicians changed the "idler bearing"... mukhang they solved the problem na... pero i'm still observing.

the suspension, aircon, are ok.... manual computation i did once, roughly its about 10km/L all city (moderate to heavy traffic) driving because bihira ako sa highway.... sa tingin ko yung 28km/L ay para sa hiway driving ng manual without aircon.

whatever you decide to buy, i-enjoy mo na lang =) Drive Safely.
