I suddenly have an interest in the CX-5 Pro, hihihi. Baka magpapa-kasya ko na sa garahe namin if my sister decides to sell her old H-City. I still don't want anything bigger than a small CUV. It's just the perfect size for our needs.
    Autodeal review of the 2019
Yes, the CX5 is very nice & a premium piece. There was a comparo test between the CX5 & Sportage diesels since they are in the same class. Both are almost the same but the CX5 won out over the Sport because of its better handling. I actually like this also, but was way over my budget.

I'm thinking about the Pro variant. 2.0 Gas engine. Ot should be economical enough for me, coming from the 2.4L 2AZ-FE Toyota.

    1.6M with discounts.

If the KIA SAs don't get their act together it's their loss.

I checked out the Sportage display today in ATC. The SA confirmed that as far as their dealership is concerned, they are indeed selling the 2019 GT-line already. The SA I spoke to is Jomar A. Japay (0975 2906971, 0908 1282668)

How it goes pala is, the dealer will buy the unit from the importer, ACI KIA & sell it as they wish.

Yes. Some dealers have flooring lines with their banks through which they can fill their inventory. But maybe some don't, so they can't fill their showrooms.

Ayun naman pala, so the ACI owned dealerships get first dibs. Eh hindi naman ganun ka-benta ang Sporty, so chances are very slim that they will buy a lot of units, especially if there aren't many buyers.

Hayss, sucks living so far away.

Not ACI owned dealership. The exhibitors are from Kia Dasma & Molino, as I know of, owned by Gov Alvarez brother.
You can use the fact of exhibit as leverage to dealers you talk to....

Yes, sorry sir Bloo, I meant the dealerships not owned by ACI.

If the dealerships near me are forced to buy 2019 units just for display purposes, then they prolly won't be doing it anytime soon nor in substantial numbers.

Oh well, I guess they can prove me wrong. I certainly hope so.

I already have a buyer for my Ravie. He's just waiting for my go signal.

When I got there, the first thing I asked was “is this model available? Most dealerships are offering me the 2017 GT Line but advertise the 2019, so are you sure this is the model you have?”
The SA said that they got a bunch of the 2019 & they definitely have this model in stock.

When I bought mine, I didn’t do a test drive. I have driven my sisters Sta. fe a couple of times & I own an Accent diesel. I knew what I wanted. Why not try this: since the Hyundai Tucson is a fraternal twin of the Sportage, why not make arrangements for a test drive of the TOTL Tucson na lang?

Thanks for the great suggestion sir Bloo. I might try that. Both dealerships in my area are almost right beside each other anyway.

Still, I can't help feeling a bit discouraged.

In case you do, put the transmission in either Normal or Sport mode. In Eco mode, the engine is restrained so you might get the impression that the engine is underpowered. It is usually used in heavy traffic. Sport mode, on the other hand, makes the car very jumpy, the pedal very sensitive.

Great suggestion again. A thousand thanks sir Bloo, you really are the KIA guru around here. Much respect.

I'm still keen on getting one, it's just kind of discouraging when SAs tell you different things and can't even schedule a test drive.

It's not like there are droves of people lining up at the place.

I was up in Kia Carmona yesterday for my 15k pms. Apparently, there are some dealers who are now now disenfranchised by ACI, hence are not accredited dealers anymore. This means they can’t get units or parts from ACI & worst of all, warranties will not be honored. Kia Sucat & Alabang are two of them. This can also be the reason why a dealer is having a hard time acquiring new units to sell. Kia Carmona, in their display, has the New Sportage GT line, Salutos, a Carnival & a Stinger. So apparently, the supply is there.

Yikes! That does not bode well for the brand, does it? Are they trying to strong arm one another into giving in?

Here I thought ACI being the new distributor would mean better over-all for KIA in the Philippines.

I hope they resolve their issues, many owners will be affected by this.

I think, in the long run it will. Maraming pasaway. ACI is trying to set the standards & dealers have to accept the changes. Either “shape up or ship out”.
One clue to look for if you want to find out if the dealer is accredited is if that particular one has a lot of promos & new units.
