Mickeys autosound did it. Am not sure if plug and play. But the steering wheel controls don't work. I have to buy an adapter (I ordered it na).

    Good morning Sir EQ,

Do I just mention with steering adapter on my purchase with Aliexpress at alam na nila yun?

Also, do you recommend Joying over Pioneer if I am an iphone user?

Ang kailangan ko is to be able to use hands free and waze on the head unit.

Where does Joying get its internet connection? Is it via cellular data personal hotspot?

    TIA

I don't think Weathertec makes mats for the 11-seater Carnival since it isn't sold in America.

Saw their website they have for 7 and 8 seater. Basically if you remove the last row its an 8 seater. Baka pwede? Not sure too.

The iphone will work fine with the Joying unit . I assume:

    1) you will stream your music via bluetooth. Check. No problems there
    2) you will use it as a hotspot and tether the Joying unit to it.

I downloaded waze and spotify and musixmatch on the joying unit.

    My usage scenario is:

    1) tether the headunit to my phone
    2) I have some spotify songs downloaded for offline use in my phone
    3) stream songs to unit via bluetooth
    4) since spotify is also installed in the Joying unit it recognizes the data stream and shows album art.
    5) since musixmatch is also installed in the Joying unit, it recognizes the data stream and displays synchronized lyrics
    6) use waze as needed on the huge screen. Musixmatch will overlay the lyrics on top.

Finally got my unit and got to drive it around over the weekend, here are my initial impressions:

1.) Ground clearance is good for a Van. Got caught in the thunderstorm yesterday and had to pass by some flooded areas in Mandaluyong (area after the Rockwell bridge), flood didn't touch the underchassis.

2.) Easy to drive despite it's length.

3.) Good torque and smooth transmission. Noticed that it shifts earlier than our Sta Fe.

4.) Would have wanted the 2nd row seats to slide even further since there are still rails left, not sure why it doesn't slide more.

5.) Back up camera screen smaller than ideal but still helpful.

6.) Got free 3M entry level tint, only thing is they only gave visor only when I wanted full windshield so will have to go to a tint shop to have the full windshield tinted. Opted to have medium shade for driver and front passenger side windows + rear windows then dark for the rest of the side windows. So far the medium tint helps a lot so I can see very clearly with the side view mirrors.

7.) Put Shell Nitro Diesel. Did around 11km/l from QC to Makati on a Sunday with light traffic along Edsa. Closer to 8km/l in city traffic.

8.) Suspension geared for comfort which the family likes.

Had my doubt having a van as a daily driver but so far I like how the Carnival behaves so it is proving me wrong.

About #4, have you checked to see if there's any stoppers placed in the slide rails?

    Hi sir,

1.) How is the aircon? Is it better than the ac of sta fe?
2.) How is the suspension compared to the sta fe? I noticed the suspension of sta fe is really good on paved roads, pero for potholes, ramdam na ramdam sa cabin.
3.) How is the turbo lag? And engine noise?
4.) How is the build quality of the plastic inside? Does it feel solid? Does it feel like it will have rattles in just a few months?
Thanks! Thinking of buying this or a second hand alphard.

*EQAddict how much did the sensors cost? Did you get those from the casa?

*DacoTyan not yet, thanks for calling that out, will check it out.

*rjc4343 Aircon ok, just manual knobs compared to Sta Fe climate control but otherwise ok. Suspension my early take is for potholes, Carnival does have a tendency to bottom out a bit more than Sta Fe but overall comfort is very good. I don't notice any lag, actually I feel it has good low end torque for this type of vehicle; of course still getting used to the size so just doing easy driving. I don't notice any engine noise inside the cabin. So far build quality looks ok, for the price the build quality is actually surprising; I mean that Kia really want this to be a hit and does not look like they scrimped just to sell at that price. Can't say how it will turn out a few months from now but good start for me.

Good review. I love my 11 seater unit. I find the second row spacious enough and im 5'11.

What it needs though are scruff plates. Gotta find me a set of that. And also i need roof rails.

Power and torque are more than enough for this class of vehicle.

I added some front and back sensors to compliment the rear view camera.

    So far so good!
