Hi everybody, I'm thinking of getting a used 2010 Kia Sportage CRDi 4x4 AT. Any feedback from owners here (fuel consumption / maintenance / handling / etc)? Would you know if getting the CRDi variant would result in substantial fuel savings, even if it's AT? Thanks in advance.

I dont't have sportage but this model share almost everything in engine & mechanical parts as my 1st gen tucson so I can relate what would you expect in this SUV. FC is good and frugal if driven conservatively, maintenance is normal as other suv brand (change oil, oil filter & fuel in regular interval), normal spare parts are easy to find (stores like fronte, goodgear, seiring, etc), handling is also good and stable even at 150 KPH speed. Savings on fuel is of course substantial as compared to petrol powered suv of its class. What else I can say.. grab it if you find a good one & enjoy the torque of the CRDi engine. Just one important thing to remember: change the fuel filter regularly & check/clean the egr at least on 10K odometer reading. Wait at least one minute after the vehicle is stop before shutting off the engine. HTH

I own one before, 2007 model, CRDI 4x4, Smokey Brown, used it for more than 3 years. I'm very satisfied with it, fuel consumption is at 10Kms./L City Driving, the ride is satisfactory, the handling is good especially during cornering, it's very stable. My unit before also includes TCS (Traction Control System), you can turn it off or on by just pressing on the switch just like it's 4x4 activation. The only reason I sold my Sportage is becaure of it's chassis or engine number (can't remember), it starts with D3a7h. Very bad, I think.

Sir, during those 3 years, kahit nakapark, 3x din sya naatrasan, after that, we decided to sell it na. The next owner, after a few months, he end up having a broken windshield. Actually, it's not our first Kia Sportage, the first one just is defective, we can't activate the TCS, Kia replaced it with a new one. :D

im also eyeing on a low mileage 2010-11 2nd gen crdi sportage, is it true na 4wd lang may abs and airbag? what should i look for this particular unit, baka kase may mga unit na na- "habagat"..... and totoo ba na puro plastic ang interior? so prone sa kalampag? 1st choice ko talaga is the new rio hatch, takot lang ako sa fc, tapos unpredictable na din ang weather so advantage na din ang diesel at ground clearance ng sporage

I got mine Nov2007 and wala akong kalampag kahit EDSA takbo ko. Solud suspension pa din. ~70k on the meter

If city driving ka lang naman, get the gasoline sportage. Cheaper to maintain. Pero di naman din ganun kamahal ang diesel PMS, tama lang

They should fetch for about the same price sir. Kung ganyan kalaki baka mas bago yung isa or baka diesel yung isa?

After 3 and a half years of owning the Sportage (2010 2WD A/T CRDI. 52,+++ km on my odometer), im still happy with this SUV. So far, wala naman akong naging problem. The suspension still feel sturdy, no issue on kalampag. Nung una akala ko may kalampag na. But when I changed the 4 tires about 8 months ago, wala naman palang kalampag. The brake pads front and rear were replaced (front pads last year pa napalitan). Replaced also my battery with motolite excel N70 cause they have the same RC rating with the original one. Aside from the regular PMS materials that were replaced, wala na akong pinalitan. Yung pag close ng doors are still the same. Maganda pa rin very solid "thud". I just use fully synthetic oil. Hindi ko na iniisip yung ma void yung 5 years warranty ko cause I dont abuse my naman my car. In fact i still get 13.5 - 14km/L on highway. Still very frugal on my point of view regarding fuel consumption.

Fellow tsikoteers and Gen 2 Sportage owners,

Saan po kaya pwede makapagpapalit ng fuel filter dito sa south area, near alabang in particular? I haven't tried casa yet, but would consider if the price isn't too high. 2008 CRDI nga po pala yung unit ko.

I would appreciate your replies. Thanks!

Up up ko lang ang question ko earlier mga Sir's!

I need to replace the fuel filter asap, wala ako alam na mabilhan. Any shop specializing on Kia/Hyundai aside from casa? The head cover gasket needs replacement most prrobably na din eh.

Your timely responses will be higly appreciated. Thanks ulit and ride safely.
