I just get 5.5 - 6 km / liter on a 2012 EX AT sedan. city driving Ayala to Pasay.

ouch!! na ala ala ko ang old toyota corona ko with rebored 12R engine, lakas lumaklak ng gas! hehehehe..

Might be the traffic. I was able to get 2 trips back and forth to pasay to dasma before on same gas usage..

Kaya nga its important to note as well your average speed when computing for fuel efficiency. Kasi highway driving ko sa Rio is around 16-20km/L if relax driving. walang expressway dito sa amin kaya hindi pa rin constant ang speed. When I push it hard, nasa 13-15km/L nalang. As mentioned above nasa 11-18km/h lang average speeds ko sa city driving. that's really slow.

I think the 4-speed auto transmission is the culprit among Rio owners.

Sedan yung sa akin 1.4L M/T, mas mabigat keysa hatch, plus naka complete sound setup pa with deadening+subwoofer+box. added weight sa sound setup nasa 20kg +/-, toolbox and books add another 5kg. Plus other abubut pa sa added weight. 80% of the time at least 2 people pa sakay totaling about 140kg in passenger weight. Recorded ko lahat ng pinakarga ko sa unit ko from day 1. Now its over a year I'm pretty consistent in the 8-9km/L range for my style of driving in Davao City. Combined City/Highway 12-15km/L (take note wala expressway dito 40km/h-50km/h lang average speed sa highway driving dito). 12 month average fuel efficiency ko nasa 8.66km/L.

17" rims gamit mo at 4-speed matic. Di mo rin mabanggit sa tread ano yung average speed mo when you get a 6km/L FC. Nagshare nga ako ng detailed account ko sa FC ng unit ko, di na agad magandang basehan? Detalyado binigay ko na info brad, eh yung sayo? Recorded mo ba lahat ng pinakarga mo na gas simula nung mabili mo unit mo? Kung makasalita ka parang yung experience mo lang tama. Bakit Manila lang ba nakakaranas ng matinding traffic? Para-paraan lang naman para makatipid at makaiwas sa traffic. Buti nga kayo dyan mura gas nyo kumpara dito sa amin. Seaoil lang pinakamura, nasa 39.20/L pa talaga presyo ngayon. Big 3 nasa 42.10/L.

I'm not even saying na super-fuel efficient tong Rio. Just sharing my experience. YMMV.
