Yup. Hope the weather improves. Although cozy din naman to just enjoy some coffee beside a fireplace habang covered with fog all around yung hotel

Hi fellow Sportage owners. Just registered today but quite a while now since I am reading this thread. I got my white sportage last june from Greenhills , one of the 1st batch I think. I was waiting for this car since last year kaya atat and a 1st time korean car owner. Anyway so far so good , happy with the suspension and handling but recently I hear rattling sounds from the plastics of the door panels which is awkward for a new car. Do you guys experience this rattling plastic sound?? I am not sure if it comes from the panel near the seatbelt or in the plastic of the door panel.

I went to kia pasay "columbian motors" to reprogram my alarm. We have the same problem before our auto lock and auto unlock feature was disabled. It just takes 15 to 20 mins for them to program it via computer. All the specs will come out and they will let you choose what feature you want, either auto lock via speed or shift knob, then auto unlock when key is removed. I was very satisfied with their customer service no questions asked or whatsoever.

I am a little bit confused since we have the theta II engine which is the same with the tucson , Kia recommends to use their mineral oil only which is made ,formulated and packed by petron. They do not recommend to use semi synthetic or fully syntheitic oil which HARI requires for their dealers. PMS is at every 7,500kms and no need for a 1,000kms pms.

Actually minsan meron , minsan wala depende ata sa weather kung mainit or malamig hehe. Another thing that I noticed is that when there is nobody seated in the front passenger side the seat slightly vibrates. Do you guys notice this?

we decided to get the sportage because of this thread.. =) special thnx to sir sg! hehe.. sulit na sulit sportage.. in my own opinion, there are things that are quite unusual for all cars.. but in this particular vehicle we were very satisfied. only one problem occured.. headlight moisture. we brought it back to the dealer and they immediately replaced it. customer satisfaction indeed! =)

nagtataka lang ako bakit 7,500 kms pa pms.. hmmm.. all our cars had their first pms at 1k. FC is reasonable.. not that great pero it's still reasonable.. hehehe.. original week old wipers left marks kaya i had it replaced. bosch aero smthng.. looks good on the sportage..

According to kia schedule of PMS is 7,500kms or 3 months which ever comes first then every 7,500kms regardless of the month. They do not void the warranty stuff like hyundai does if you dont bring your car for service every 3 months regardless of the mileage which i think is a rip off specially if you seldom use the car. I confirmed this with the service manager of columbian motors which is kia pasay.

Pit stop currently has a white sportage LX diesel for sale, how much kaya ito? They did not indicate the price.

So the Kia Pasay is company owned talaga by Columbian?

I'll try to visit Kia Pasay for the auto door lock / unlock feature. Saan pala yun?

Yes sir fully owned by columbian motors. It is also beside their training center and parts center of Kia. They do not have the option for semi or fully syntheitc oil pms, They use kia motor oil with different viscosity of the petron oil but is packed by petron. 15w 40 or 15w 50 was the viscosity.

Yes true a lot of dealers or service center walang hiya kahit anong brand pa. Is there an OEM LED tail lights available for the sportage?

Wala OEM LED tail lights for the Sportage. Nagulat ako pati pala KDM at EUDM same ng sa atin. LED-look lang. Haha.

Got the chance to seat at the backseat of the sportage at the showroom, mas malaki nga headroom niya compared sa tucson, sa tucson kasi hindi ko madiretso ulo ko sa backseat.

6k, low beam and fog lights.. for the installation.. sorry, can't tell.. it depends on your SA i think.. hehe.. =)

HIDs on motorcycles are really irritating.. since their headlghts are high, parang highbeam palagi maski low lang.

Basically because the stock fog lamp bulb is only 27W.

Now to the nitty gritty. Under the hood is the new 2 liter powerplant from Kia with continuously variable valve timing for both the intake and exhaust cams. The engine is capable of 166 metric horsepower and 197 Newton meters, and while that sounds good on paper, however, it does not really translate as much to the road as I would have wanted. For some reason, the Sportage doesn't perform as well as I hoped, finishing a 0-100 km/h sprint in 11.7 seconds, and has a relatively difficult time (as noted by the high revs) getting up inclines.

I found this strange, particularly because I drove the Hyundai Tucson D-CVVT before; a car that I was truly impressed with and a car with which the Sportage shares a lot with... including the platform and the engine. A quick glance at the vehicle's curb weight quickly answered my questions, as the Sportage D-CVVT AWD weighs in at over 1636 kilograms; a figure that is nearly 150 kilos more than the similarly specced Tucson.

The 6-speed automatic transmission and its shorter ratios helped in coping with the weight, but having a small 2 liter engine lug along the extra weight of an all-wheel drive transmission seems to have cancelled it out. As a result, the engine returns fuel economy figures of just an average 7.9 km/l in the city and 9.6 km/l on the highway (both in light to moderate traffic).

I'm considering the KIA Sportage 4x2 Gasoline Engine.

If I'll purchase one, most likely ang route is slex to makati CBD back and forth.

    Salamat po ng marami.

I'm getting 6-7km/L on heavy traffic. Ortigas-Makati. Highway around 12km/L.

Overall happy with it as it really feels nimble and car-like though with the driving height of a crossover/SUV. Quite spacious inside as well, though visibility could be better. Style of course is what closed the deal

Also quite happy with the engine, especially on out of town drives. Smooth and fast acceleration, no problems with overtaking on flats, though things can get sketchy pag paahon na.
