2011 KIA Sportage (GEN 3)

Just got my Sportage 2WD yesterday. Just wondering if you also a wiring problem(?) on parking light controls. For my unit, with engine off, off/on of parking lights are ok; but with engine on, with parking at off position, both park lights and instrument panel turns on, while at on position parking lights and instrument panel turns off!!! I will go to KIA Alabang to clarify unless this is normal to your units also.

Congrats new sportage owner... it seems there's something wrong with the wiring or programming ... better go to CASA for a check... Btw, makaka adjust ba ang brightness level ng instrument panel yo? baka naman naka set sa pinaka dark setting ang instrument panel kaya pag on ng park light, parang off ang light sa instrument panel.... yan kasi behavior sa KDM unit, with lights off, full brightness at instrument panel, with ligths on, it changes according to the user setting and the amount of light from the surroundings.

#2: Yup, pang-foreign market nga yung feature na yun. Plus it's just an indicator if your driving optimally, it does not help you by making correction itself. Though it's a "nice-to-have" feature.
#3 Depende kung saan dealer ka. Sa Sta Rosa area daw ang warehouse. Plus during test drives, dealers intentionally disconnect the odometer. Mga loko ano?

That's why 98% on the time di ko siya activate.... except malapit na mag empty

Hehehehe. Daya mo naman Sir eh. KDM ang sportage mo, CDRi pa. Fully loaded ng features yata yan. Although, I'm not sure kung yung AWD ay may Active ECO na, for local variant.

Yun pala ang lamang ng Tucson sa local Sportage. May ECO-minder sila sa trip meter. The light goes off if your RPMs go high, and lights up again pag within the optimal range. This was standard in the US 2011 Sportage, but in the 2012 model, it is now Active ECO with a button: When activated, the computer optimizes everything, kaya medyo subdued ng konti ang takbo. Pero mas fuel efficient daw.

My dealer is Kia Las Pinas. Assuming they used it for test drives, and di na-disconnect ang odometer, then this travelled distance of 30km from Sta. Rosa is more or less acceptable, right? Or wrong?

Standard pala yung Eco indicator sa Tucson? Yung seats din mas maganda ang material ng Tucson, not that I'm complaining with the sportage's seat.

I'm not sure how far is the Sta Rosa warehouse to Las Pinas dealer, but additional 30 Kms doesn't seem to bad to me, as long as you are happy with the unit.

Sirs, need information from you, i purchased sportage Oct 2011 and untill now, wala pa rin yung plate number ko, i purchased the unit at kia acropolis, made diligent follow ups, pero ang sagot nila "in process" pa rin daw, im wondering what could have happend?

In fact they asked me to settle P2,000+ just to cover the Nov & Dec registration fee since I opted to get the "1" plate number ending, dapat daw bayaran kasi nga Jan. available ang "1". Hope there's anybody who can enlighten regardding this....salamat po in advance...

Honestly, kung day to day car ko sya, I wouldn't have picked the Sportage. Malakas sya lumaklak pag heavy traffic, 6-7km/L. I suppose most SUVs would be in that range. FC gets better lang pag medyo maluwag sa kalye, so Sun I get closer to 9-10km/L.

So kung QC-Makati ka daily, mga one week lang siguro or less ang full tank.

Pinakamatipid na sa lahat ng 2.0 na compact SUV, kayalang talagang tama si Sir na di advisable na gamitin pang araw araw unless ok lang yung lakas ng FC. Pero sulit naman pag once meron ka na. goodluck sa pagbili mo Sir.

Everyday highway driving ako, on the average 11~12Km/L ang FC ko. OK na ako sa FC na to, kase expected ko na, since nag shift ako from sedan to small SUV, and gas hindi diesel ang fuel ko. Am happy with my Sportage, and I dont care much if I spend a little more for gas. Good luck!

Hi Sir, based on my experience, when i purchased my Unit last Nov, pinapending ko rin po yung registration ko, nirequest ko na maging 2012 na sya and my agent told me na automatic na daw yun pag last quarter of the year ka bibili ng unit talagang 2012 na. So he issued me authority to drive for 3 mos, pero last week nandito na yung plate no. Ko, i requested for a a no.3 ending, wala po akong dinagdag na cash dun sa registration sir.

Ano yung authority to drive? Is this a special document issued by the dealer? In my case kase, open yung date ng Vehicle Delivery Receipt, yun na lang daw ang ipakita pag sinita ako, sabihin ko lang na "recent" lang yung pagkakabili ko.

Thanks for the info whiteysporty! Was wondering bakit hindi ganun ang binigay na suggestion sa akin, or hindi alam ng agent siguro. Siempre ndi ko rin alam na ganun pala tapos pinag bayad pa ko. Ung dinadaanan kong mmda sa c5 mukhang nakikilala na ko, need to reroute, although i have the authority to drive until next week, then hinahatid sakin pag near expiring na un recent document, ang dami na nga e. Well, will just have to wait, walang choice. Salamat ulit sir!

1month ~ 1.5months daw ang release ng license plate eh. Pinapili ako ng ending plate. Dito ako nag worry, baka kaya matagal kase pumili pa ako ng ending plate.

Pano ina-activate yung electrically heated feature nong side mirrors? Active na ba yun pag naulan o nabasa yung side mirrors?
