2007 Kia Carens [continued]

Sirs. Good day! Bought a 2007 Kia Carens M/T last month and bumigay yung turbo ko. To cut the story short, I already had it replaced (laman loob ng turbo), because the casing doesnt need replacement as per my mechanic. Bought a turbo timer, and set it up for 1 min 30 secs cool down. So far, ok naman takbo nya and I have no problems with the engine. Had my oil filter, oil fluid replaced, pero nit the fuel filter yet. Any more preventive maintenance from you guys? And at times, may naririnig akong nag ssqueak sa front passenger side area. Hello sa mga nainlab kay Karen. I got mine last month - 2nd hand carens09/AT casa maintained. Okay naman sya nung pagkakuha ko pero last week lang, nagkaron sya bgla ng whistling sound. Pinacheck ko sa Kia Pasig (c/o Mar) and he said possible na compressor pulley ung sira which is a known issue daw. Nagestimate sya ng 22k price for the pulley+hub+labor. Mahal sya compared sa mga nabasa ko from prev posts. Baka dalhin ko na lng sa Fronte for service, mas malapit samen kysa sa Goodgear Pasay. Sana may parts sila..

Common problem yan sa Carens... compressor pulley bearing ang papalitan.
It took a half-day lang pinalitan sa Carens ko (last year).... isinabay ko na sa scheduled PMS.

Tawagan mo muna Fronte, kung may parts..pa schedule ka. Kung wala kang schedule baka hindi ka maasikasu dun. Mura lang labor dun Fronte.

just bought recently and proud owner of carens. so far, the performance is beyond my expectations. though there are things that needs to be done to maintain its good condition. any suggestions will be appreciated.

To avoid problems with your turbo.
Always practice to cool down or idle your engine for at least a 60~90 seconds before turning it OFF... especially after a long drive.

By the way, how much engine oil is needed for an oil change and when should a timing belt/chain be changed? PSI is now set to 30 but would it be fine if I increase it to 32?

Kia Carens Engine oil capacity is near 5.9L
Nasa 32psi sa Carens ko.

Try to back read (a few pages back discussed in 2014), there is a discussion about the Timing belt replacement.

My assumption is correct, change oil would need nearly 6L. But what bothered me when I had my engine oil changed a couple of days ago was, 6L only reached halfway before full! I let it past for 1 day but the next morning, it's still the same (checked before/after the engine started). Now the question is, do I still need to fill another 1L to make it full?

Did u checked when the engine is Cold.... and checked when the engine is Hot?

Yes, and there's a bit difference between them but still not reaching the full marker.

how about before you had an oil change, what was the level reading from the dipstick? find out where the 3liters went and which oil did you use?

oil level from dip stick was below level before the change oil. and since I have no idea what oil was used, I decided to have it drained and replaced it with new oil rather than adding oil that I'm not sure of.

sorry, so before and after "change oil" have the same level on dipstick? half?

did you check the condition of the oil before the change oil? i mean maitim na ba na tipong hindi nagpapalit ng oil for years?

siguro kung ako nasa kalagayan mo, i'll check the oils' condition now kung malinaw pa or maitim na, kung maitim na kagad, papalitan ko ulit, maybe flushing will help? but i will not drive it if the dipstick level mark is only half, top up na lang kung malinaw pa

wala po bang tulo sa garahe nung previous owner?
