Sir madami na parts ..nagulat nga ako dahil nung unang punta ko dun sa casa nung natow ang carens ko eh tumawag lang sila sa supplier at meron daw available parts. Nahirapan lang talaga sa crankshaft dahil hindi naman ito usually ini istock kasi bihira naman ang nagpapalit nito. Kung meron lang sana yung crankshaft eh baka mas maaga ko nakuha ang carens. I also noticed that almost all the OEM brand new parts bear the Hyundai and Kia logo. Yung clutch nga pagka order ko kinabukasan dumating na galing supplier.

Yung mga valves nilinisan lang ng gasoline at tubig at pinaikot ikot lang..I was there when they assembled the engine. Pero mukhang ibabalik ko Carens next week dahil di umiilaw yung glow plug indicator (eh kapapalit kasi ng 4).

Akala ko din noon bawal ang long and unnecessary idle pag break in period. Pero baliktad pala. Pa update ko muna ECU bago ko i i break in sa SCtex this weekend. Pero may mga gustong sumama (i.e. relatives). Okey lang ba na mabigat ang load or pwede ko ba isakay ang 6-7 medium sized adults during the break in period?

just refrain from sudden acceleration or struggling the engine... accelerate slowly and do not stay long in any rpm range except idle...

nung nag pa overhaul ako noon, maghapon na pinandar nung mechanic yung engine ko..

after 1000kms change oil ka ulet tapos normal driving ka na

Sir pumunta ako Kia Dagupan kanina. Nireset lang yung ecu kasi may mga error codes na lumalabas. Tinatanong ko sila tungkol dun sa software update/upgrade pero di ata nila alam kung ano yun. Sabi nila hindi naman daw kailangan ng upgrade kasi di naman daw pinalitan ang ecu. So ang ginawa lang nila eh nireset lang ang ecu using the GDS software. Paid 700 petot for this very simple procedure

Btw, napansin ko ulit yung pag 2nd or 3rd gear eh parang naghe hesitate o kumakadyot. The AC is currently disconnected. So i think kailangan na talaga ng software upgrade. Nalinis kasi ulit ang egr. Pwede ata sa Kia pampanga. Dun ko na lang ipapa update. May mga jurassic technology pa rin kasi ang mga ibang kia casa.

Hi,

Had just finished ECU update from Kia Pampanga. It just took 10 mins.

These are what I noticed:

1. The hesitation or “kadyot” was gone. But will further observe performance in the coming days
2. No noticeable turbo lag (kahit anong rpm range ramdam mo na ang turbo, di tulad dati na sa 1,500 rpm and up lang)
3. Improved fuel economy? (21.7 kms/L pure highway with slight city driving in San Fernando). Had a full tank at Shell NLex, I traveled to Pampanga and filled up at Rosario La Union (207 kms which used 9.5 liters of Shell V Power).

I was surprised that I got that figure considering it was still in the break in period. The ecu update might have contributed a bit to the improvement but I drove with a light foot along SCtex and Nlex (min of 60 kph and max of 80 – 90 kph – as in gumapang talaga) so hindi pa talaga conclusive kung yung update ang nagpaganda ng fuel mileage. Another thing is, the AC was not used during the entire trip.




May error din na ‘turbo charger overspeed logic’ (hindi ko alam kung anong error ito hindi ko na natanong) and hesitation. Pero gumanda naman ang overall performance mula nung na update although it is still wait and see dahil nasa break in pa lang.

Saka bumigay na rin ang battery ni Carens after 4 and a half years while in Pampanga. Pinalitan ng Motolite Gold S3.

Unfortunately sir, after I tried to plead na nagbayad na ako ng 700 sa Kia Dagupan, I was still asked to pay 1,120 pesos for the reset and the update. Ang dahilan daw eh kailangan ulit makita/maverify yung "current version" nung ECU. Sinabi ko rin na libre naman dati yon (i read it here somewhere 2009 pa yung post ni sir Itlog na Pula).

Sir, magpaudate ka na rin. It's about time. Yung lumang firmware eh hindi pa ata optimized for managing EGR-related operations.

Ask lang po ng isang zero knowledge sa car... wala na po lamig ng aircon ng carens namin. would like to seek advise for some DIY inspection before ko pacheck sa shop. 4 yrs n 4 mos old na unit namin, for the past 2 months, nawawala minsan lamig tapos ipapahinga ko lang, bumabalik na. but this time, for the past 2 days, di na bumabalik as in fan na lang pero hina pa rin.

if in case need na talaga icheck ng aircon specialist, any recommendation within sta rosa / binan area?

i believe you may have a problem with your magnetic clutch. Had the same telltale when mine was just 1.5 years old pero was diagnosed correctly by KIA Pampanga.

Ask the A/C specialist to check it. Kung matinik siya, alam niya paano i-check ito.

Possible nga sir. Kung ma alala mo, nireset na sa kia dagupan yung ecu ni carens. The next day, we travelled to pampanga and stayed overnight there. the next day bago ako makapunta sa kia, bumigay na battery kaya napilitan ako bumili sa motolite mismo dun. Nung andun na ako, napansin ko bumalik ulit yung mga error codes. ayun nireset saka ina update.

Pero firmware yon na naistore sa ROM kaya dapat di siya na e erase o nawawala pag walang power ng basta basta. Or baka yun latest version nung upgrade ang nilagay sa carens ko?

just want to share my experience. i'm driving my kia carens ex/at then suddenly bigla na lang namatay ang engine. tried to re start but namamatay ulit. so i disconnected the battery then tried again after 5 minutes pero wala pa rin. no choice na ako so tawag na ng towing service. i specifically inform them that what i need is a flat bed tow service since a/t yung carens and to avoid further damage. i bought it to kia alabang at 9:00pm. pagbalik ko kinabukasan pinadiagnose na and the culprit is a dirty egr valve. grabe just because of a dirty egr puede ka na pala timirik. paglinis ng egr ikinabit then test drive at ok na nga. since egr is not part of the service maintenance siguro dapat gawin ito every 40K.

the only symptom i have experience is minsan kumakadyot yung carens in second and third gear. so guys just make it sure your egr valve has been cleaned if more than 4 years old na ang carens. hirap talaga pag tumirik ang kotse...

yung mixture kasi ng air and diesel ay marumi kaya mabilis maipon and carbon deposit sa egr kaya ang recomended ng casa is always replaced air filter pag nag change oil...

EGR cleaning is a simple job to do, no need for casa svc if you are at home with DIY. Kailangan lang marunong ka ng basic use of hand tools...
