why cant Isuzu do this...will it cost too much? i mean im pretty sure the crosswind will out sell the innova if it came with a CRDi engine.. i mean the new crosswind is just being certified to be Euro II compliant with a low charge turbo.. i mean a 2.5CRDI isuzu engine has been a avialable in thailand for over 2 years now.its an option on can have if you get the 2.5 CRDi dmax. why cant they just put this engine in the crosswind?and to think the Dmax is still not CRDI.while in thailand the new Dmax,, has VGT also....even the isuzu light trucks in thailand are turbo charge... are we really that behind compared to thailand?

tipong nag-uubos na lang rin ng 4ja-1. almost 20 yrs old na 'to.

just like what toyota did with their 7K. it came from 3K to 4K to 5K

    now they have the vvti.

Seriously, Isuzu isn't in a good position cash-wise and has limited funds for development. Now that the Crosswind is being sold as a "Chevy" in some markets, though, expect GM to invest a bit in it.

But consider, despite its crudeness, the Crosswind still sells... sometimes, especially for its crudeness... the indestructibility of the ancient 4JA1 is a big selling point for the Crosswind.

pa. eh ba't nga nila papalitan eh bumebenta naman.

But I think that the crosswind's engine is now updated to reduce smoke belching? Totoo ba? WHat did they do?

x3 on improve handling/change suspension... boot the gas pedal... oops, diesel pedal in the parking lot while turning, and it'll feel like it's tipping over...

The current Crosswind's engine is supposedly Euro2 compliant. They probably recalibrated the injectors, added a particulate filter, and increased the turbo boost a bit to make up for the power lost to emission controls.

Playing the devil's advocate regarding CRDi... why make the Crosswind CRDi? Power and speed aren't the main goals of the AUV... hauling people while maintaining decent fuel economy are. That's where the Crosswind excels... having decent fuel economy. Besides, CRDi costs money to buy and maintain... something that buyers of Crosswinds or Adventures aren't particularly keen on.

The Crosswind can already reach 140 km/h... when it only has enough brakes and suspension to safely go 80 km/h... :rofl01: ...I'd say it's powerful enough already... :hysterical:

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

perhaps, they are keeping the costs down. instead, they focused on creature comforts. saka isa pa, bago nila gawing CRDI ang Crosswind, D-Max muna.

I think ok na yung makina ng x wind ang dapat talaga nilang improve yung suspension kasi nakaka pagod sumakay medyo matigas

Oo nga... What's preventing Isuzu from putting the new 3.0 CRDI engine on the D-Max?

My sentiments exactly... Actually it's more of the a/t model that takes the cake in sluggishness... My friends who have the m/t versions are quite contented and driving it over 80-100kph can become scary in situations indeed.

this is probably because of the high ground clearance. plus the inadequate brakes. hence the 'crosswind' beneath the vehicle makes it unstable. but it ain't sports car- it's a people carrier mainly to ferry passengers from point A to point B.

but, costs aside. equip it with turbo charger, ABS+EBD and SRS airbags it would really be cool XUV or cross utility vehicle. don't get me wrong, cross not crossover. cross between an AUV and SUV.

The best solution is don't drive it over 100kph. Hehehe.:D

whats preventing Isuzu from putting a 2.5CRDI engine on the new crosswind
