I bought an Isuzu Elf (surplus) the one with the modern cat-eye face model. Its got a lot of electronic stuff and one of them is the HSA button found on the dash, two in fact: HSA Reset and HSA ON/OFF.

Anyone here knows what is HSA for?

It still functions because if I turn it On or Off it gives off a load beep sound and flashes the HSA indicator light beside the turn signals.

I'm just wondering if it will affect driving mode (like fast hi-way or city driving) or does it function like a computer for a specific task. So far I don't feel much difference if it's on or off.

    Thanks!

It stands as Hill Start Aid.

Isuzu's Hill Start Aid is a standard fitting on all NPR and NQR models fitted with manual transmissions.

HSA maintains truck brake pressure until the clutch is engaged and will limit vehicle roll-back. It is very effective for take-off on hills under load conditions.

Models fitted with AMT do not require HSA as the transmission fluid coupling holds the vehicle stationary until acceleration commences.

    anu naman yung AMT?

pansin ko nga din yan, mga modern JDM-convert trucks..

kung pandin mo din, pag-on mo ng HSA parang hihina ng konti ang makina mo--parang nagka-aircon effect...

    AUTOMATED MANUAL TRANSMISSION (AMT)
Available on Premium models, the AMT can be used in either full automatic mode as per traditional autos, or gears can be selected manually as per 'tiptronic' style transmissions in some of the modern passenger cars.

The AMT is a two pedal operation without a clutch and Isuzu is the only manufacturer to offer such a transmission in its light truck range in Australia.

Isuzu's AMT is mostly likely the same from Chery's AMT.

Bumigay na kasi yung mga multicab namin na pang-hakot after years of abuse.

Ang lakas nga ng hatak ng Elf, four tire configuration pero ang engine daw is for 6. Lambot pa ng steering and smooth tranny.

Iba yata iyon i think thats the engine break switch, usually ginagamit sa downhill run pag mabigat ang karga. Marami makina na ang nasira dahil sa switch na iyan , not because of Vehicle malfunction but driver error, kinakalimutan ioff iyan, kaya if ever mag invest kayo sa truck make sure you educate your drivers. Kung akala ninyo basta truck lang iyan believe minsan mas hi tech pa feature niyan sa mga light vehicles natin. hehehehe

How about the RETARDER Technology ng locomotive yata inaaply sa 10 wheeler trucks

Iba po ito. Exhaust brake po ito or retarder. Kung nasa U.S. ka naman, 'Jake Brake' ang slang term para dito.

Hindi naman siya dapat ginagamit for emergency stops. It's supposed to be used to make engine braking more effective when descending steep grades for extended periods. Still, some drivers think its an emergency use item.

What's the "HSA" function for in an Isuzu Elf?
