kindly share your experience. im planning to buy a surplus trooper. im really having second thoughts because of what others have shared here, sakit ng ulo daw talaga. however, most have complains on 4JX1. under the hood on the surplus is 4JG2. no discussions were made here about the engine. hope anybody could share. thanks

Most of the 4JG2 JDM are equipped with EFI injection pumps, drive by wire, bunch of sensors and actuators. Without a diagnostic tool and PCM card specific to that model,it will be hard for the mechanic to diagnose. Another factor is the condition of the wiring harness to and from the ECU,sensor and actuators.

The worst thing that happened to me is a blown head gasket. You will notice a coughing sound coming from the overflow container. Pinalitan ko valves, valve guide, valve seat, valve seals and all cylinder head bolt. Tightening bolts of Trooper is a combination of torque/degrees/degrees.

Ako lang ang mechanic ko. Graduate kasi ako ng Diesel Mechanic at Gasoline Mechanic. But i have heard of Joseph sa south area and they say he is good dont know him personally.

dame n kcng gastos ng trooper kaya nagdecide ako na ibenta n lng. bsta yung recent problem ko was yun nga top overhaul sa casa kc naputol yung hose going to radiator so tumaas yung temperature ng 3/4 tas sabe sa isuzu nacra daw cylnder head kaya ayun top overhaul yung ginwa. Nung knuha ko na parang cngaw n yung tunog mas maingay p sa truck yung andar and sabe ko indi ganun so i thought baka mwala lng pag tumkbo n. Unfortunately after 2 months gabnun p rin so I went back para machekc nila pero they are insisting na ganun daw tlga! d*%$2 isuzu!

Pre-95 UBS69 are equipped with mechanical type na fuel injection. Ganun yung sa akin. Mas robust ang design pero mas inefficient. A little lower power output din. No problems at all with my 4JG2 though I changed the timing belt and all belts for that matter nung nag roro kami, water pump and repaired the alternator. All in all mga 10K un. Preventive maintenance ako. I never wait for it to break down. Pag due na for replacement I do it especially pag out of town trip. I toured most of the Panay Island with my wife with no single problem. Pinaayos ko yung A/C and electrical tapos inayos ko din ng konti yung wiring. I think pag mahilig ka magkalikot and you know how to pick a unit sa second hand market, buying the Trooper (UBS69) is a good option naman.

Did they do machine works on the head? Matibay ang cylinder head ng 4jg2. Maybe we can still save your ride from the chop chop.
