Check the PDI motoring section today.

    Beastly horsepower 130Ps * 3,800 rpm
    Mighty torque 30kg.m * 2000rpm
...pero crosswind naman ang nasa picture. Parang misleading ah?

Highly efficient 19.198 km/l based on 02 DOE fuel economy run results(crosswind XTO)
...pero IPV naman ang nasa picture at hirap na ang XUV ko sa 12km/l on normal and realistic driving condition.

    Euro3 compliant

On the other hand, happy pa rin ako sa XUV ko.

    kakalungkot naman itong balita to..
anyways. yung mileage figures, that was based on 60-80 kph driving speed. hindi stop and go traffic. When they did that test, umaga yun at highway driving. pero walang daya sa tire pressure and bukas din ata aircon.
i myself have not achieved that kind of a mileage. highest I got was 14-15 km/liter, provided 80-90 kph topspeed. leisurely driving lang talaga.

i think if they are purposely misleading the public, maybe the public should show their disapproval by boycotting them?

nagpublish ng ERRATUM ang PDI today:

    On the ISUZU DIESEL-UP
    PRINT AD published
    October 16, 2003, the
    Horsepower and torque
    specifications of the Isuzu
    Crosswind should have
    been "Horsepower: 85Ps
    at 3,9000 rpm and Torque:
    18.5kg.m/2,000rpm".

    PDI Business Section, page B3.

erratum na nga, me mali pa rin: 3,9000 rpm

you call 130Ps beastly? hahahaha! beastly can only be used on those with 200hp and up IMHO!

Highly efficient 19.198 km/l based on 02 DOE fuel economy run results(crosswind XTO)

hmmm... with no aircon, one passenger and drifting techniques you might... but they should publish a realistic city and highway figure... just like what is being done in the us...

I agree.. dapat yung realistic na city and hiway driving man lang... baka nga naka neutral pa yan sa hiway .. meron pa nga ako nabasa sa newspaper na yung nag-top dun sa economy run eh nasa 43Km/liters pa ata... ano yun nagtulak? tsk tsk..

tapos yung erratum eh nasa maliit na page siguro hehe

    Hehe...

    Misleading talaga...

in fairness to isuzu, they based this claim on the DOE (dept of energy) supervised fuel economy run done Nov of last year .. read the article below...

    http://www.motorista.com.ph/features...e_112002b.html

I also read the article published in Phil Daily inquirer last year. I think DOE tried to make the economy run as realistic as possible, meaning, no over-inflated tires, no free-wheeling, a/c on (not sure) and even-loads. Mga professional drivers pa yata yung mga nag-test drive. kaya nakuha nila yung mileage na yun, they limited the top speed to 80 kph. Well at least that what the article claimed. mas realistic yung mileage figures na to compared to the 40+km/liter na nakuha dun sa Isuzu Phils supervised FUN RUN na dayaan to the max ang labanan - over-inflated tires, no aircon, free-wheeling driving, RPM below 1500 at 5th gear... kulang na lang yata ipahila sa kalabaw yung mga rides nila while idling para manalo sa fuel efficiency

In fairness din sa Isuzu, Crosswind is still the most efficient of the 3 leading AUVs. :D

yup.. mas matipid ng konti ang isuzu diesel compared to toyota revo and mitsubishi adventure .. toyota ata pinakamalakas sa consumption ng diesel..

pero syempre.. we always wanted a realistic test drive not the one where you have to switch off the aircon at neutral sa highway..
