can you guys help me on this:
    1. i just bought a trooper (commercial mdl), parang matigas yung steering, normal lang ba 'yon?
    2. if i change the tires, what would you suggest (pros and cons)? i'm thinking of a 275/70/16. tires lang siguro. di na kaya ng budget kung kasali ang mags.
    3. as everybody knows besco is expensive, what other oil ang puede? sabi dito sa davao if i use other oils maski yung nakasulat sa manual nila, ma viod daw warranty. is it true?
thanks very much for your help

Are you referring to a new trooper skyroof model?
    1) steering should be light, almost effortless
2)stick to the OEM size, a 275/70 would be too high and wide for your mags. It would also throw off your gearing making it too tall. The 255/70 or 265/65 is within limits so safe to use.
3)If you want their warranty you'll have to use the Besco. BUT if you don't trust their work, you can use Petron's all terrain 5w30 synthetic oil- better than besco.

    thanks for the reply jackaroo.
    yup its the skyroof mdl
its my first isuzu so i really wouldnt know kung effortless na cya. but comparing with the crv and carnival medyo malaki ang difference nila. havent checked the tire pressure yet bka kulang
saw your post with the other thread rergarding the tires, you recommended grandtrek at2. anong size yun 255/70 or 265/65?
which is better scorpion or grandtrek? d2 ksi sa davao di masyado ginagamit ang grand
its not that i dont trust besco but i think they're overcharging. 7,500 for the 1st 1500 kms is too much. i only spent 6t (more or less) for the silverado which lasts 12t kms as per manual.

On tires: Dunlop AT2 are 245/70R16, stock size- i'm using them and they're softer than the Bstone HT. Another option is same size by Michelin 4x4 xtt or Synchrone at P4500, haven't tried the Pirellis.
On Service: You have to assess the quality of work of your local dealer since they'll be the one carrying out a warranty claim. The price of P7.5K is similar to manila and it's due to the besco oil and the LSD oil- also overpriced at P800 x3L. Suggest you source your own LSD oil from Mobil-LSA90 or Castrol- Hypoy LS90, at about P300/L, both listed in your manual.
Check my thread on the Besco oil analysis posted about Dec02 in this forum.

ah ok na pala Dunlop AT2 are 245/70R16. i thought mas maganda kung wider ang tires para mas maganda ang handling. downside is mas mabigat i maneuver
comparing the two, dunlop and michellin, which is better in ride comfort and tire life? almost the same na kasi ang price nila. i saw in other threads na mabilis mapudpod ang grand at1. is this true with the at2

thanks marwen. i know johnny of megawheels. he's a nice guy, but i think they are carrying pirellis only. tried the scorpion on my silverado b4. ok man pero medyo matagtag. i want to try a diffrent brand.

Can't compare the two since i haven't tried the michelins. The usual comments are dunlops are soft but wear fast while the michelins are harder but last longer- it's usually a trade-off between tire wear and comfort.
The dunlops are only P3.5K* here in manila.

michelins will last longer than the dunlops. but as they say it has a harsh ride compared to dunlops. i had michelins before and one set lasted me 90k kilometers sa ford na F100, carrying a ton of feeds every other day. and they have excellent traction too.

naka 275 na Bridgestone po yung trooper namin... grabe nakakatakot na when you steer tapos medyo mabilis... parang tataob and umiiyak ang gulong...

265 na grandtrek alam ko po ox lang... just correct me if im wrong

guys, just bought the dunlop 265/70/16 a/t2. definitely better than bridges. tama kayo- softer ride and i noticed mas malambot ang steering. its probably due to the thread design. thanks

grey_ek, ungas is right. my alignment didnt changed.
copied from jackaroo's reply above: The 255/70 or 265/65 is within limits so safe to use.
i got the 265/ 70 grandtrek a/t2. no problem with the alignment.
try bf goodrich a/t ko. they were discussing it in another thread. and it seems good

Kung wala naman sumasabit sa gulong di dapat magbago yung alignment nun. I haven't seen your unit yet, pero unang pumasok sa isip ko ginatasan lang kayo ng zafra.

I've seen Troopers with 285 tires with no adjustments made.

Much better! If you could bring the Trooper so we can judge how they manage to adjust it.
