gary; at what moment ba gumagana yung turbo ng 4jg2? is it speed or rpm dependent?tnx.

  4. #4
rpm related ang any turbo. Sa atin around 2-2500 rpm nagsisimula ang boost.

    Lord Garyq

    Sir with your indulgence....

    RPM readings dapat

    720 +/- 30 <----- Cold Idle State

    800 +/- 20 <----- Normal Idling

    800 +/- 50 <------ W A/C on

Does that mean na pagkakaandar ng ride ay pwede kagad patayin yung makina(ex; dadaan ako ng malapit banko before going to my destination). Pwedeng di ko na pahinga yung turbo ng around 2 minutes.TIA

Nap: Oo sa manual yan. Looks like the 720 is from cold idle, kaka-start lang. Bok, thanks for the added info.

edwin: May turbo timer ako and a spare key. Pag malayo yung biyahe, cool down ko 2 minutes. Pag withdraw lang sa ATM and I can see the car di ko na pinapatay. I lock it with my spare key

gary, kung medyo magtatagal sa place(e.g.bank), would you recomend na pahinga pa rin ng 2 mins before patayin engine?

as long as nagkick in ang turbo mo.. dats the time ipapahinga mo yan pero kung normal driving kanaman wag na..

    ang rule
pag gumamit nang turbo ipahinga nang 2 minutes and
    pag malapitan wala po..

Pero ang question Lord gary paki sagot po..

ang turbo eh nagaactivate when you reach the desired KPH mo and the RPM

that doesn't mean na pag umabot nang 2K RPM magkikick in ang turbo???

kasi po parang di ganon ang principle ha.. Pero I still might be wrong studying pa ako nang 4Jg2 eh

boknoy: I think one has to see the basics of how a turbo works para maliwanagan dito. The turbine is moved by the exhaust gas coming from the engine. This in return is connected to a compressor wheel (more like a centrifugal pump) that "compresses" the air into the cylinder so that more air means more fuel you can inject producing more power. It takes a certain amount of exhaust gas to turn the turbine (because of inertia) kaya may turbo lag. The turbo syst has to overcome this so that the compressor on the other side of the shaft spins faster and compacts just enough air to the cylinder to give you the additional power. Pansin ko lang sa 4JG2 around 2000 rpm yung start ng noticeable boost and around 3200 rpm yung optimum. This is the reason kaya yun ang nasabi ko. Based lang yun sa rig ko. Hope this helps
